  • Wow all i can say its SUPER AWESOME!! Now if Konami wanna please the fans. They should go old school with the Castlevania games. Would be epic if they bundle it like Mario 25 anniversary. Anyway, its just a fans dream to see another Castlevania action/platformer in the future. Happy 25 anniversary Castlevania Rock on my old friend. //M//

  • @piscesdreams1023, I hope this doesn't sound like a stupid question, but is this game finally finished, or are you still working on it. I tried going to several forums of castlevaina websites you joined, but it seems you been inactive.

  • @cjv84us not a stupid question. my old code and files became lost in a hard drive crash so the beta 1.3 is the last there will be :\

    I went inactive because forums piss me off with silly trolls and whatnot.

  • Okay, I finally beat it.

    Yeah, Death was a lot easier when I used Holy Cross on him three times.

    Dracula was a lot of fun to fight :D The only problem is, it bugged and froze when I grabbed the last orb. No ending for me.

    I take it Harker just stands on a cliff watching the castle crumble, then queue credits like any other Castlevania?

  • @LordDyhalto depends, there are truly three different endings. Just depends on how long you take to beat the game.

    Why did you make Death so ungodly hard? As if it isn't hard enough doding him and his sickles, but that annoying lightning keeps preventing me from seeing what's going on.

  • @LordDyhalto Why should Death be easy? Use the cross item crash. It'd be a lot easier. Or the holy water's shield and then use the water when he swoops down. He's quite easy really.

  • How did you accomplish that reflection effect at 0:20?

  • @GeminiSoftworks Using a Lens/Mirror extension in Multimedia Fusion 2. I just had the actual window itself show the reflection and had it sit at the bottom of the frame the whole time isntead of reflecting the whole map so it'd be faster and more CPU efficient.

  • @maxryu100 It's on PC, but it's named after canceled 32X title and has it's main character sprite.

  • @nukesheart lol thanks. I feel ya, I was supposed to release the final version and then all my backups failed after a computer crash, for some reason...so :(

  • Maria doesn't but Richter does and is very integral into the plot.

  • I made it all in Multimedia Fusion 2, the entire engine is coded from scratch.

    Well for one, this just looks fantastic. The only thing I don't like so far, is no running. BUT that's probably my playing of Sotn for the past 5 months.. Anyway, looks great can't wait for it, but don't rush! I've seen such shitty outcomes come out of potentially great fan games because they rushed it.

    Did you upgarde your engine since your last beta released??

  • Well thanks! I did, it's a total revamp of the old engine. The entire game is more like a traditional Castlevania. Though there are a few engine limitations it still plays 99% just like a CV game.

    If I could propose you something...you should add the same Richter move with the whip in SOTN...cant remember the name but i remember this move to be awsome and greatly animated

  • do you mean where you can sling the whip around while standing idle? I considered doing that but didn't think it'd mesh with the gameplay and I didn't have this sprite in the pieces I'd have needed it to be in in order to do it properly.

  • Yeah exactly this move...well too bad if you cant add it...but hey one last question...where did you take your main character sprite?? im remember him for supposly being in the 32X unreleased version of bloodletting

  • i found the sprite sheet on internet, im not sure if a guy named akumajou otaku on the chapel forums edited the richter sprite sheet based on the image konami released on the game or whatnot.

  • This game is shaping up to be awesome. The bosses look epically fantastic, and the stage-design looks brutal! I love the way the gameplay looks, and the fact that you kept things like the back-flip and limit-breaks in there.

    Are you really going to push to have the game out this summer? I'd love to see it as soon as possible, but I really want you to polish it up and make it as fantastic as possible, to don't rush it! :)

  • Oh yeah I'm definitely going to take time to polish it, I figure if I have it out by before fall is technically in then I'll have achieved my goal, that's plenty of time for the game to be polished and finished. :)

  • pisces, my man, i'm loving this. the gameplay has improved greatly, and the enemy and boss AI has drastically gone up. well done. can't wait for it.

  • Still got finetuning on the AI to do as well, it'll definitely have at least a month or so for strictly polishing and bugtesting/fixing. I'm just glad to see I'm almost finished with it. Something I was bound and determined to finish unlike many homebrewers, sucks because so many homebrews had great potential.

  • I'll have a link up here when it's ready, if you want to subscribe that way you'll know it's ready. It's also discussed in the Chapel of Resonance forums and the website there will probably be the one hosting it but it will be linked from here too.
