  • crazy,i couldn't do it.is their aliens on the other side.lol

  • hopefully will go there in the next five years

  • i would shit myself doing this

  • what grade is this? it looks awesome, ill be adding that to the tour next year =]

  • Mato Tipila (Bears Lodge) is revered by more than half a dozen Indian Tribes. This is the reason rock climbing was "banned" during the month of June. Of course it wasn't really banned, the park just requested that no one climb, however, it was simply up to the individual.

  • i'm going there this summer! But it's about 700-800 ft. high and i'm afraid of heights so idk if i'll climb it and i've never climbed before.

  • @timd941 Try 1500-1800ft high, i live there pretty much

  • @MrDontwannafight wow. Looks lke I won't be doing that then. xD

  • @timd941 no need to be fraid of heights, just think once your like 100 feet off of the ground, your dead no matter what, so there isnt any difference between that and 1000 feet. :)

  • @sarvelaj I was there august 1st and hiked around it. xD

  • @timd941 awww come on dude, i cannot WAIT to go there next summer, I just started climbing 3 weeks ago and I'm training soo hard, IDK how hard the routes are yet all i know is my gym takes regular trips there and im going! bahaha

  • Tall

  • careful, the government might spray sleeping gas on you if you see their extraterrestrial encampment

  • @linksfood an spielberg fan?

this rock is awesome, i would climb it if i could

  • That's in insane climb!

I'd love to do it though. :)

  • y do they call it the devils tower

  • @lordwestoff Lordwestoff, that's your opinion which everyone is entitled to. But everyone is different and like to take on challenges such as these. It's called over coming fear and taking risks. Remember life can be snatched from you at any moment.

  • Statistically speaking, there are far, far, more people that die from a fall around the home than ever "die" pursuing a climb like this.... The state of the technology and climbing capabilities are much more advanced than you apparently have the foggiest notion of. But then again, the world needs all of us...armchair commandos and all... Calm down Francis....it's all gonna be fine...

  • @lordwestoff what if your family loves to climb? the only place that people routinely die is stolby, in russia. and only because they dont use ropes, and downclimb everything they come up

  • Must have been tough being off rock that long, lol.

  • what if they fell

  • they would get caught by the rope looped through the carabiners you can see in the wall

  • @Cassie20690 Death

  • wowo

  • The music is Brad Sucks - Fixing My Brain

  • but that walk was LONG! lol

  • i was there last week!!!!!! YAYYY!!! *bee*

  • This is totally cool. It makes me want to "go climb a rock" ;-). Yes, I am curious what song is being played. It is perfect.

  • Nice post - What's the accompanying music?

    Is it Matthew Dear?

  • Did you make it to the top???

  • lol i live there ahahahahah its just a rock

  • Thanks bro's that looks like a fun climb. I will have to try and make my way to this awsome spot. Just moved out west and trying to find some cool climbers. Don't have any climbing partners anymore.

  • Seriously. What the hell is wrong with you people?

  • Sweet, I climbed in yellowstone years back (not El Capitain), Im wondering how long did this climb take. Also, in climbing, isnt it great, 2 points of contact always, unless your sleeping, 1 contact point for the tent, lol.

  • You're a braver man than me, there's no way I could tackle that monster!

  • I get to go see it next week...cant wait!

  • Well, be careful; there are some pretty strange things happening around there...

  • Strange things? Like what?

  • What kind of things? I'm going there next month. Anything that's out of the ordinary I'm off

  • there is also that huge UFO from close encounters, but it's not that big a deal...

    ;-)

  • on google: image: MONT CHAUDRON watch !

  • my friend and i are planning a trip this summer there, can't wait.

  • Welp, at least this clip has action shots(unlike some),but Im confused. What route was that?At first it looked like you were on New Wave or Broken Tree, but then I see someone racing against the burn on El Matador?Did you lead the crux pitch on El Mat?Did ya summit or just tag bolts over the crux?DETAILS, MAN!I NEED DETAILS!A cool video of my favorite rock to get bloody knuckles on.And yes,you can climb there.Just not in June(although its a voluntary ban)

  • Curt you the man! Keep on rocking the tower. Maybe someday I'll see you out there again. Peace out.-Jon

  • Is climbing allowed there again? I thought it was banned some years ago. Such an amazing formation...

  • Oh yes, climbing is allowed.

  • what a beautiful climb! rock on!
