Cord blood stem cells have been the most promising for research. There are a few vids at the right that u can find to watch. 1 from 2006 talks of growing liver cells in the laboratory from cord blood cell. But no embryonic research in all the time it's had where it's existed have come close to strides in cures made with cord blood stem cells. -& no human being has to be forcibly brought into existence in a lab for the sole purpose of being harvested, used & destroyed for someone else.
does anyone know about living donations? ive researched organ donations a million times, but im looking into giving my mom a lobe of my liver... anyone know someone whose done it?
I would do anything to cure my moms liver disease, but in her lifetime... it will be the death of her. all because she contract hep c from a blood transfusion after breaking her back in 1985. Im posting this video on my personal page to get the word out.
Great. There are many forms of liver related diseases and research which is very poorly funded Wroldwide. Please help fund research into this terminal illness afflicting many REAL LIVES. I believe that self harvested stem work is being carried Prof Habib in London, he gave a great lecture at the PSCTrust conference in London. Please see the PSCTrust website for more on liver diseases and also see their video on youtube.

I do agree there should be more awareness into liver diseases and conditions. I don't know why it hasn't recieved more attention, but hopefully there should be more research into eventually finding a cure. But I personally also agree that using stem cells from human embryos is wrong. They ARE human beings, weither they come to term or not and the practice of taking cells from unborn children is wrong.
Functional mini-livers from cord blood stem cells exist & to help people within 5 years. IVF clinics don't even make millions of embryos annually. Only 400,000 stored - 90% for future family building. Parents (not government) say to toss the extras. Embryoloists say embryos are REAL, LIVING, HUMAN BEINGS. Focus. The wasted stem cells that are curing people are from the millions of babies born annually whose cord blood is tossed.
It's so important that someone is telling these stories and showing the american people that stem cell research is about saving the lives of REAL, LIVING HUMAN BEINGS. Millions of embryos are thrown away every year because they aren't used by their "parents" to "create" a child. Rather than throwing them away, instead they could help give life to the living who will soon die.
