Sorry, the last comment was @"unlisted"... also, I can indeed declare something to be permissible in Islam if it is quite clearly and unambiguously permissible. I don't need to ask a scholar if eating rice is permissible. "Rap" is to recite or speak a series of words. This CANNOT be defined as haram in itself. The content is the issue.
As for music, different sheikhs have different fatwas on the subject. Stating something is 'haram' without 'ijma' amongst scholars is dangerous.
@elmaazaw - you may know that before the time of the Prophet the tribal leaders would employ poets to basically write and perform insulting poetry in public about rival tribes and leaders. This was 'poetry' and yet was equally insulting to much rap music that takes place today. Does this make poetry 'haram'. You can kill someone with a knife, you can also use that knife to prepare food for the hungry. It doesn't make the knife haram does it.
@KnightCrawler2 i uploaded it to my channel but the producer of the documentary told me to take it down which was a bit rediculous but if you want it i will upload it onto a download site and you can download it there because you wont find this documentary anywhere. Masha'Allah n Salam
@unlissted some rap is poetry and has alot of positivity in it u cant just be superficial as a muslim our approach most be subjective and wise with everything we do and say lets not through around HARAMs , beware of the curse of the pious ....arrogance ....
@elmaazaw Rap is not poetry and you cant just declare something to be legitimate in islam without proof and scholars whom affirm this as well.
Rap is usually accompanied with music which makes more haram then itself alone. Most Rap which is found is nothing but filth with a filthy culture that goes along with it. Drugs, drinking, fornication, killing, academical ignorance, drug dealing, rape and a lot more evil.
You're using English. Is that not 'imitating the disbelievers?' HARAM!!!
Yes, there is an issue of being judgmental when some of the greatest scholars of our time, who lived just a generation after the Prophet saw did, and who knew more than you or me btw, studied all available information and determined that some music is halal, some makruh, some even recommended during times of celebration. Kindly keep your mouth closed until you know what you're talking about lest you
poor kids ...raising them to haraam music and raising them to imitate the kufaar....this is what happens when people who are ignorant take leadership positions while they dont have no islamic knowledge

Where was the Qur'an when the Prophet saw was alive? Where was during the lives of the Muslim Prophets and their followers before him?
The Qur'an is a living message. Look past the pieces of paper.
