I have alot of respect for SP, love almost all of their shit. A big fan, but not a diehard and I gotta say this song bores me and Im surpised by that, but it does. I dont think I want to see BC playin a harmonica and his vocals are too stock which is unusual for him. I didnt quite catch the vibe on this one, certainly not like mabuhayguy below.

This is why the the Smashing Pumpkins are my favorite band in the world... One min you hear loud screaming guitars the next you hear something like this that blows me away... I would say this is one of the best songs they have ever recoreded :O)

@seasonsbleed Well, they would come back......but Darcy left and James left for their own reasons, but mostly because they had, had enough, whether thats of Billy Corgan who knows.

I do think maybe they would of if they were allowed to contribute more, but according to Billy they were'nt that interested anyway - and apparantly he told them what to play.

I don't know if thats Billy Corgan being the head controller or them being disinterested, but Billys pretty honest......

i actually like IF all goes wrong because its unique bands get sick of playing the same old shit so when i saw the pumpkings they had a 3 hour setlist and the only known songs were "bullets" "rino" "silverfuck" the rest were old and new lesser known material b-sides,covers and material they only play live they made up for playing lesser know songs by playing bullet with butterflywings 7 times in a row and twice at the end and they exyended a lot of their songs they are trully experimental

No studio version really exists right now, unless the band's recording it for "Teargarden by Kaleidyscope". This is probably the best version of it that exists.

@muzicnub4life It became SP v2 in 2007 when Billy and Jimmy got back together without D'arcy and James and the first album they did as SP v2 was Zeitgeist. Sounds nothing like this though, Zeitgeist is pretty heavy a lot of the time..

Give me a break Billy has the right to the SP name.Many famous bands still tour with less then the original members ...BIlly is SP and always will be.Let D'arcy and James try to do SP without Billy haha never pull it off.Look at the crap band james was in and funny nothing really from him to make anything.Billy made both of them period.Billy can pull it off without them.Billy has always been the heart of the band.I love that Billy's moved from the pass and dropped the dead weight so to speak..

i respect his wishes because of how long hes been loyal although i think iha and darcy are more up themselves than billy. James WAS cool but wrote practically nothing but intros. If these so called stars had ANY real respect for the fans they would do what most other bands have always done, GIVE THEM WHAT THEY WANT and SEE if they want anything new you have to offer, but whats the point in STILL calling the band "SP" when almost everything associated with them is gone and couldn't care less?

I didn't like Zeitgeist much but songs like this are a great addition to the Pumpkins legacy imo. He had any number of names to call the band he puts out these new songs under, but obviously he feels that they're "Pumpkin" material, or hed have called them "Zwan" or "Billy Corgan" songs.

I don't disagree with you at all. Corgan is, and has always been, a great songwriter.

But the first four minutes of this song is WAY too overindulgent, and it's my feeling that he has no clue how to reel himself in anymore.

At one point, he had people around him who could set him straight. Slowly, yet surely, all of those people have parted ways with him.

It's a shame that he can't coexist with anybody because he needs people (like Jimmy) to bring out the best in him.
