Keep up the good work you are a great mama! I have 3 month old boy and I want to start this for him but have no clue who to call! Can you help me! thanks:)
Just beautiful ... he is an amazing and smart little boy. I wish we would have started this young. We have just bought it for our one year old and he is doing well, but not doing choosing between the words yet. Congrats! He is doing so well.
I taught my kids to read using BrillKids Little Reader. It's roughly the same price as the Your Baby Can Read deluxe kit but you get a lot more bang for your buck because it can teach foreign language, is customizable with you kids pictures, etc. I used BKAFF40902 to save a little more $. They offer a 2 week trial period but unlike YBCR, they don't require a credit card upfront which I really like. If you spend 5 minutes on the BrillKids forums you'll find hundreds of babies reading.
How often do you read the books and do the flash cards? my son has been watching the videos since he was 4 months old, but im just starting the flash cards.
Congratulations! I have been using this program for a few months with my 2 year old, and am not seeing any results yet. I like to watch videos like yours to reassure myself that the program really does work. Thank you for sharing your adorable sons progress with us. I don't have the flash cards or books, I was wondering how important do you think they are? And do you go through the cards with him everyday? Any reply would be greatly appreciated.
Yes we try to read his books and do his word cards every day and i think they are a very important step in the program. I think it helps for them to be interactive with the words rather than to just watch them on tv. Spencer loves when we get out his word cards he just concentrates on every single one as we go through them. we started him watching the video at 3 months so just give it some time!!!
Thanks so much. I was reluctant to purchase them because they are expensive and I'm sure my son will have them torn up in a matter of days. Possibly throw a tantrum when I try to get him to look at the cards. I actually started using the program in hopes it would improve his speech. I'm sure his lack of com skills are a major contributor to his behavior problems. Luckily your son will never go through that frustration. I'm going to purchase them, I'm sure it's a worthy investment. Thank you! :D
Spencer does grab for the cards but they are made from cardboard like material not just paper so they really are very durable and the books are not just paper thin either... Good luck and i hope they help.. one thing they say is that if the child gets frustrated to stop and try again later...do not force them to finish... so maybe just try a little bit at a time first...
I purchased the flashcards and books today. :) I've made my own to use until they arrive. I've done this before, but they don't last long! I'll have to be more careful with the costly ones.
I'm sure I won't regret the purchase. I believe he's really going to respond to the books, he loves books. I also have a 5 month old who I believe will benefit the most from the program.
Thank you for your advice. Good luck with your little guy, his progress is amazing! You must be so proud!
This is fake. My 15 month old brother wouldn't tell the difference.
