  • Long live the Blues..........Greetings from Phillip Island,,Australia.

  • So fucking great i enjoyed it

  • The 29 people who hated your blues must be BB King, Albie King, Clapton, Mayer, Derek Trucks, etc.

Not SRV, Hendrix, Rob Johnson, etc though 'cause they're dead and that would be freaky. O.o

  • Wow! great tone and playing :D

  • it's in my favourites!

Do I have to say anything?

  • Looks like you are really enjoying yourself !! Sounds great as well!

  • nice playing :)

  • hey I plan to buy a sparkle drive..I would like to know if your Blues jr is the tolex version or the tweed version...I guess tweed?!

    great playin' btw :)

  • you know that funk itself has distant roots in blues?

  • Why would anyone wish to criticise this guy. I find his playing quite enjoyable to listen to.He clearly has a nice feel to his playing mixing rythm and lead which is not always easy. Most of his lead phrases are short and punchy and he does not endlessly "diddle"

You normally find that morons who criticize are often delluded about there own playing standard or are insecure and nowhere near as good as the person they are criticizing.

  • Well enjoyed !!! I like this xD

  • Well enjoyed !! i like this xD

  • Nice Man!! Perhaps you might not be fully mature. Bur *youre onthe road*! Keep at it, persevere. You Will Suceed, Soon Come.

But still, i enjoyed the hecks outa that

  • ohh yesssssssssssssssssssssssss original funk blues :))))))))))) carlos

  • On some of the older videos I've seen you used a Ibanez Tube Screamer...do you still use that?

  • oh..hi guys..can i join the club? i play guitar too and alot of blues stuff..can we share ideas?and oh..where do you get those nice backing tracks? :)

  • Hey brotha good jammin man! What year is your vintage 62 strat?

  • Thanks

  • does the pickguard looks old like in your video?

  • I really enjoy your guitar playing , looking forward to more !

  • This video just made up my mind for me, im definitely getting a blues junior.

  • nice

  • sound good as heLL?? u know how HeLL sound like uhh.,.

  • I will sell my Peavey Valve King 112 and buy a Fender Blues Jr.

  • Damn that Junior sound good as hell!

  • WOW!!!! That was Dang Awesome :)) 5*

  • what scales did u use?

  • @pintsize63

Pentatonic blues. Just do a Pentatonic, add the major third, flat 5th, minor #6th, etc...

  • Sweet guitar man!! Really nice playing too!

  • Man, You are GREAT ! ! ! ! ! !

    Amazing play and felling :D

  • Dude! Did you upgrade your tubes in that thing? Are those stock pickups on the strat? PLease message back! i WANT you TONE!

  • swell sound :P thumbs up

  • That damn blues jr sounds so good! i gotta get one!

  • F**K that was awesome !!!

  • If you hadnt played the first 2 bars it would be a much cooler introduction to the solo (with the bends).

The fisrt riff sounds cool, but kinda weird as an intro.... Just my train of thought xD

But damn nice playing, loving the style man!

  • hey dude, just wondering if you can send me a backing track of this one. thanks!

  • Great tone from the blues jr., no surprise!

  • Man, you're good! I like it!

  • very hubert sumlin style playing.. good work

    :)

  • i have the same backing track! lol

  • where do you get it?

  • from limewire

  • yeeee really good playing

  • Great job!

    Cool tone!

  • ive seen all the good comments and i dont wanna be bad but i dont think he play good at all... its boring, he does the same shit fot three minuets.. nothing special...

  • I'm pretty sure that pentatonic scale was old after the first time you played it

  • dude this is so much fun to listen to, sometimes i am just turning it on instead of listening to instead of my blues collection lol

this just sounds great. your improv is thoughtful...id like to see it in a group situation :)

  • Man that's EXACTLLY the type of music I love and I play. You definitely ROCK.

  • i had a 62 RI a while back. Great guitar, but the frets were way too small.

  • Realy Nice!!! Good Job!!!

  • very nice!

  • You get some complete dead heads making comments on here ala sampoirier. I would imagine the guy is not remotely qualified to even judge the level of this guy's playing.

This guy, amatuer or pro, plays pretty good

and I quite enjoy listening to him.

  • i aggree, hes really got the blues and plays it pretty clean as well

  • i agree

  • man, don't listen to that moron...he obviously removed his vids out of shame! he must have just started playing if two years makes such a difference in his playing. u are definitely one of the best players i have seen on utube. what you are doing is true improv, not just a bunch of rehearsed licks.i love that u left a space there for someone else to solo. i never made a utube vid before but my first is going to be me jamming with YOU!!! rock on man and ignore the envious rants of the untalented.

  • and if he really was a beginner?? why the hell are you argueing? let him do his stuff...

  • Comment removed

  • and ? What's your point exactly ?

    Did i say anywhere i'm a pro ?

You don't like what i do ? fine. No need to be rude.

Of course i'm not a pro ! If i was, it's sure i will not post videos on youtube. ;)

And, everybody has ears, you don't have to be a pro to say if you like or hate something.

By the way, i'm still waiting a jam from you. ;)

  • Comment removed

  • Exam period ????

    what ??? You're not a PRO ???

    I'm so disapointed...

you make a lot of noise for nothing.

Why removed your video on your profile ? Afraid of critic ?

  • Comment removed

  • quote : "And you only tried to get me down with some insults, wow...and I offered you to get some of my records, you didnt reply about that, how come ? tell me, afraid ? "

    I never insult you pal.

Afraid to get some of you records ? Why ? I should be ? Is it so awfull ?

  • @sampoirier

I don't think the guy ever claimed to be Jimi Hendrix. Just chill out. This settles it... since statistically speaking neither of you will make it as pros, you both suck. Now just stop worrying about other peoples playing and if you don't like it just don't say anything. Move on.

Personally I think this video is awesome. I think the guy has good phasing and is a pleasure to listen to. Sure he's not the best in the world, but last time I checked that completely doesn't matter

  • @Kassad62 leave him lol...just another troll with no life. btw awesome groovin' mate \m/

  • nice stuff ¡¡¡¡

    welldone

    ;-)

  • sampoirier, you are just a rude person. the rest of us seem to like the kid. i supose you are just so much better than everyone else?

  • Yes, because we all know that you should never enjoy the music we play unless it is top of the line...

  • He's plays good. Why the hate?

  • hi Sam.

I'm not a begginer, but i'm far to be a really good player too. I just play guitar for me and my family, and for fun.

    No need to be aggressive.

Made a video response and i will be honored to put it here.

Music is not about better or not, it's just pleasure, whatever the level of the musician.

  • Meant to say he's good.

  • Just because he is no Joe Satriani or Steve Vai doesn't mean he's not good. All I'm saying is why come on here and talk crap about his playing. I've been playing guitar for 6 years and he is not making my ears bleed. If you play so well then post a video. If you are better than him then why say he sucks. I appreciate music in all forms. Beginner or highly advanced it really does not matter to me. If he is a beginner then he is really good for a beginner. Just sit back and enjoy man.

  • I've been playing for three years and loved this. he is no beginner. He spaced his notes fairly well and wasn't over the top with his playing.

@sampoirier: you should be ashamed of yourself to be bashing someone truly better than you musically. I saw your video before you removed it and I must say that you don't even hold a candle to this user. you have to be one of the most arrogant and self-obsessed user I have ever come across, and since this is Youtube, I've seen ALOT of people like you.

  • thats so stupid he plays really bad and alot of amature players can do better than him so shut up

  • Sampoirier?

  • no you tard - the guy in the video! his tone is so awsome and he is making some nice faces so it looks like he is a soulful player

  • I'm confused now. Are you saying samp is bad or the guy in the video? One comment looks like you say the video guy is bad and here you say he's good. Please clarify this for me because I keep getting messages on youtube that aren't even directed towards me.

  • get your ignorant ass outa here

  • liked that a lot

  • Ahhhh!! Seen you before (the guy that always smiles when he plays) Same guitar as mine before i "customized" it a little. Mine is a 99 and it looks like it come out of WW1. Just about to take on WW2 now ;)

  • you got the rythm man!!

  • r-h-y-t-h-m is the correct spelling. And yet another public schooler!

  • very nice keep it up

  • Love it! Remind me about Stevie Ray and Albert Collins. *****

  • Wonderful solo. What you use to make the basis of music? is mp3 or any specific software?

  • cool man exelent work!!1

  • This's grate! congratulations!;)

  • This is so eff-ing good. damn i could listen to you play all day long!

  • lay off the kid dude. he's fucking 12. shit....

  • Whatever man

  • cool...I like your work

  • Man the style is awesome.... By the way where did u get the backtrack???

  • nice! I`m enjoyed it a lot, an exelent background music and your guitar expression, both together made it very nice to listen.

  • I like all your videos... nice work .. go on!

  • quality

  • Once again, it is your fan, Joey, 12 years old. I am still new and all, but your pshycadelic-funky-blues playing is speaking to me! You and all the good people of music, keep rocking on in your own way!

  • Eres un artista niño......me encanta como tocas. guauuuuuuuuu. Casi eres Mark Knofpler o Santana.

  • fucked up funky blues hehehehehe joke ^^

    its not bad

  • not bad man.....but i can predict what you are going to play before u play it so dive out of the basic pentatonic shape every now and then.

  • hey! you're a really great blues player! i have a 62 ri strat too and i'm realy happy with the sound of that pickups. they have a pretty flat character and full tone! love it!. • Sorry, no tabs, it's pure improvisation. ;)

  • search for the blues scale

  • don't worry, you can find the best scales and teacher,

but ultimately its up to your imagination and how much you practice

  • Tab kid :XD get ear.

  • thanx dude ,keep rockin'

  • Cool dude! Here can I find some tabs? I can't play any blues... it's just sad!

  • Let me get this straight...you've got the blues 'cuz you can't play the blues? There's gotta be a song in that somewhere.

  • great tone!

Don't overlook the Bad Monkey - it's only $40, but it just may be Digitech's best pedal! (it's analog, not digital, despite the company name)

  • What a beautiful guitar and you can make that strat sing.

  • how do you record?

  • hey, i just realized that i have a funk impro with the same backing track :D

  • oleeee jaja muy bueno tio! oh yeah guy! very nice

  • Smooth

  • Very Very Nice .......

  • Hi you sound great, just wondering how happy you are with the sparkle drive pedal and the blues junior and if you would reccomend that combination that is exactly what I was looking at buying, thanks.

  • thanks !

In fact, i think to sold the sparkle, because i'm not entirely satisfied with it. Maybe i'll get a Maxon. ;)

  • Yes. Yesyesyesyes.

  • Oooh, that funky chord strumming reminds me really strongly of Hubert Sumlin. And, as always, there's a strong Clapton flavor, too. Very nice!

  • Hubert Sumlin... don't know the guy but i'm lookin for him now.

    thanks ! :)

  • He was Howlin' Wolf's guitarist for a while. If you find the original recording of Howlin' Wolf's Killing Floor, that's Hubert on lead guitar. He's also on Clapton's Crossroads Guitar Festival DVD.

    Keep rockin'!

  • ok thanks !

  • great solo work and cords!!! keep that up

  • It looks like you have a finish on the neck? Did you oil it or something?

  • Yes, it's stock pickups, they are really good on the RI 62.

no, the neck is not oiled. It's just a rosewood fingerboard. ;)

  • Awesome playing! I've got the exact strat as you. Do you have stock pickups in it?

  • Hey Kassad, sorry I didnt reply! By how much I mean How much money did it cost you?

  • All my gear or only the guitar ?

It's too much expensive in France unfornatly. I'll bought all my gears in Deustchland or directly in US. ;)

    Piece bye piece slowly.

  • The only problem is I can't read Japanese, so I can't really find my way around on this site. What gutiar do you actually mean? Is it a Fender or something else?

  • Yep, it's Fender Japan. Their web site is part in english. ;)

  • Thanks Kassad, i'll check it. Keep playing like this. You inspire me in my playing.

  • Nice playing just like always. I'm thinking of buying a guitar like you, but I can't afford the Amercan Vintage 62. Wich guitar sounds a lot like yours but is a bit more affordable?

  • Japan model ! They got a 62 to, Very good, very close to the american.

    And not expensive.

    Visit ishibashi web site. ;)

  • jémeré bien jouer comme toi

  • Very tastefully done man. Great tone and great groove!

  • Kassad

Excellent as always- really enjoy your playing. Thanks. Patrick

  • I'm about to purchase that identical guitar. I'm just wondering how much your set up was??? and do you have any tips for me?

    Thanks you. =D

Brilliants video. You are truly tallented!

  • hi ! and thanks.

This guitar, the 62RI is just amazing.

What do you mean by how much ? Excuse my bad english.

  • Wonderfull Blues. More please... :-)

  • Yoyoyo t'as trop la classe. Ca fait dix mois que je joue de la guitare, et je vise à peu près ton niveau : j'adore ce répertoire, et j'aimerais apprendre à improviser. T'as quelques conseils à me donner?

  • It's a Highway one youre playing on right? I have one myself! it Rocks! I love the fender sound!

  • Nope, it's an american vintage reissue 62. ;)

  • ahhh! Nice man! Good luck in the future!

  • My friend has that identical guitar. It's a very nice instrument. By the way, where do you get your backing tracks?
