What? You have 5 classifications of mobs. Weak, Normal, Tough, Elite and Champion.
Weak mobs are subject to 1 hits (and you are subjected to be attacked by shiploads of them all at once) . As it should be in the Star Wars multiverse.
this game is way different then wow. first of all better graphics, a way better in depth characters and storyline then wow. and the pvp for this game is way better then wow.

Everytime a new MMO releases, you have your folks saying "Oh it's a must-have I played the beta I know how good it will be." Then you have the "Oh WoW will never be beaten it's the best it's been around a long time." Well let me tell you, I've been through WoW, and I was there for the beta and launch of FF XIV, AoC, Rift, and Aion. The same was said for each, and look where those games are now. Personally, despite how I enjoyed the beta, I am giving the game a year before I consider purchase.
@Yamigata If you have the patience to wait a year to buy a game then your not into that much to begin with .. you either like something or you don't. What good will waiting a year do? I'd rather play it when its fresh and new and lots of people around my level to group with. To each their own though. Good luck.
@khessmd68 You hit the nail on the head when you said "To each their own." I'm waiting a year because it is what I did NOT do with Aion, Age of Conan, and Rift. I wish I had, because now each of those games is on the shelf collecting dust, and each of them is $59 plus monthly fees that I wish I could have back. I don't want the same with this game. Since I have no idea how it will do, I will watch it closely for a year. If it holds up, then I'll consider it.
@khessmd68 It's not as black and white as "you either like something or you don't." At least not when it comes to MMOs, in my book. I personally have to like an MMO now and a year from now if I am to consider it worthwhile. As for playing it fresh and new, yeah that can have its perks but as long as the game holds up there will always be people of all level ranges to play with.
@Yamigata It's all good .. we just have different views and that is ok. I bought and played all the MMO's you mentioned plus probably about 50 others since 1999 when i started with EQ. It doesn't bother me that I spent that money .. i got my moneys worth out of all those games for the few months that I played them. If you had any fun at all in any of those games then it was a good investment, even if it was for a short while. A movie is $10+ and that is over with in 2 hours.
Im in the beta, this game is absolutely great in almost every aspect. If i just had to pay the price of the game its self it would be worth it through and through. Its like they took 8 single player games and compiled them into an MMO that has dynamic social and character development. It makes wow look Downright Linear and boring as hell.
Made it about half way through this instance before they shut down the servers. Fun instance for the part I saw of it. We killed the 2nd boss about 60 seconds before the server went down. Perfect timing. Didn't seem horribly difficult. 3 of us were under level (SI, 2xBH), and one was slightly over level (IA).
OMG STOP ARGUEING ABOUT WHICH MMO WILL BE BETTER. TOR hasnt even come out yet and you guys are arguing over it on the internet. U can't judge a game that hasn't even come out yet!! idc if you've played the beta. DON'T JUDGE
@Doomheart2001 you're drawing conclusions right out of your ass and I believe you're the wow fanboy. Judge wow on how fun it could've been pre bc just to level 10-15. Would you have loved it then? Doing all these tedious meaningless quests over and over? Cause that's all you pretty much can do with wow at those levels. So I would say don't be to quick to judge a game solely on the beta you played for maybe a couple of weeks.

@BLACKGUY98 The flashpoints (dungeons) are not cross server, so if you leave the group you will build a reputation on the server as being impatient and imcompentent. This is what it was like when Warcraft was decent. The days of LFG CC for Deadmines etc - No easy mode dungeon finder in this game.
@doomheart2001 Was in beta on this game, graphics are much better, higher frame rate, little lag. Game has a storyline with great interaction, you can actually develope your toon by darkside/lightside choices..... and didn't see any pandas at all

Although it looks decent, I can't see this game having a strong hold on players for longer than 3, maybe 4 years tops. I give kudos to players who can play WoW for any longer than that, but the repetitiveness of these games is the main downfall. I wish this game the best of luck though.
Yes people will say FPS are repetitive, but theres a human factor to it that spices it up. Every encounter in these MMO's is the same, its all planned out by the game itself. That gets old, fast.
@Sifterx27 I don't know if you are aware, but MMO's, including this one, have pvp. You play other human just as you would in an FPS or any other competitive multiplayer game.
@Synser It may have PvP but I have read statements that challenge the quality of it. Now I don't think that matters personally, just so we're clear here. Last I checked, only an itty bitty little sliver of people play MMORPGs for PvP or are that concerned about it at all.
@Starry2000 I agree, I was only saying that they aren't only for playing through the pre programmed content, if someone chose, they could play pvp, which would give them a new experience.
Anyway it would be like any MMO, just a better, in my opinion because even though it could get repetitive, they would constantly update the game with patches, and maybe even expansions. From what I've personally experience from the beta, it is more engaging than other MMO's I have experienced.

Oh this flashpoint, spent 20 tires on the last boss continuously dieing and trying to defeat him for an hour.........but it was the most fun I've had in a flashpoint and I enjoyed continuously wiping and going back to get him! Hands down favorite flashpoint of SWTOR out of the 3 I've played!
@Wolfesscythe117 yeah, we had a little trouble telling what was going on because most of the abilities he has are all the same color got kinda difficult to tell what abilities he was using at half the time when he does his shield knock back, and we had a sub-par healer so that could of been it also lol
@spartan1chief I did in in a previous build, so things could have changed. I was an assassin and I just killed the adds while everyone else was on the boss.

Hammer station was fun... last boss was a pain but we had a blast and it felt awesome when we beat him into the durosteel floor. Note to healers, avoid the explosives cause he likes to throw them at you... a lot and they hurt... a lot.
nda = some kind of law that forces you to keep your mouth shut of talking about this game since it can be copied by other games and then claim it as copyright that would cost bioware allot of money
This planet-killer is more original. I like the idea of a weapon the propels asteroids into planets, it seems more natural that an organisation uses natural resources instead of giant lasers

hopefully when u die people dont freak out like in WoW , and if your group fails theres a cutscence showing you what happens when you fail.. and teaches you how to better it

@BLACKGUY98 The flashpoints (dungeons) are not cross server, so if you leave the group you will build a reputation on the server as being impatient and imcompentent. This is what it was like when Warcraft was decent. The days of LFG CC for Deadmines etc - No easy mode dungeon finder in this game.

@doomheart2001 Was in beta on this game, graphics are much better, higher frame rate, little lag. Game has a storyline with great interaction, you can actually develope your toon by darkside/lightside choices..... and didn't see any pandas at all

WoW copied Everquest basicaly and shot off from there. @Codered9841 oh and one more thing....yes its a MMORPG, but calling it a copy of WoW is completely retarded cause this is the star wars universe and WoW is the WoW universe, two completely different things the only thing that is the same is the MMORPG factor of the game....and so what if its similar, pretty much 90% of games these days are similar to their own genres from other games back in the day (MW2-3 is the same as counterstrike and tom clancys rainbow series, the fable series and GTA etc)

Although it looks decent, I can't see this game having a strong hold on players for longer than 3, maybe 4 years tops. I give kudos to players who can play WoW for any longer than that, but the repetitiveness of these games is the main downfall. I wish this game the best of luck though.
Yes people will say FPS are repetitive, but theres a human factor to it that spices it up. Every encounter in these MMO's is the same, its all planned out by the game itself. That gets old, fast.

@Synser It may have PvP but I have read statements that challenge the quality of it. Now I don't think that matters personally, just so we're clear here. Last I checked, only an itty bitty little sliver of people play MMORPGs for PvP or are that concerned about it at all.

@Starry2000 I agree, I was only saying that they aren't only for playing through the pre programmed content, if someone chose, they could play pvp, which would give them a new experience.
Anyway it would be like any MMO, just a better, in my opinion because even though it could get repetitive, they would constantly update the game with patches, and maybe even expansions. From what I've personally experience from the beta, it is more engaging than other MMO's I have experienced.

Oh this flashpoint, spent 20 tires on the last boss continuously dieing and trying to defeat him for an hour.........but it was the most fun I've had in a flashpoint and I enjoyed continuously wiping and going back to get him! Hands down favorite flashpoint of SWTOR out of the 3 I've played!

Hammer station was fun... last boss was a pain but we had a blast and it felt awesome when we beat him into the durosteel floor. Note to healers, avoid the explosives cause he likes to throw them at you... a lot and they hurt... a lot.
