  • Been looking for this song a lot, thanks man

  • Why must I be a thief? Why must I be a thief?

This is what I always see

  • @TheShaaaker I really don't know, it was on Youtube about a month ago, but now seems it's gone...

  • this is a cover of a song by a band called CAN theres is soooooo much better though i'm a huge radiohead fan i think most CAN fans are

  • cool video

  • @ColorfulHyena Thanks!

  • This movie is sort of a metaphorical statement about the new RH "musical experiment" and hence commercial failure, i.e., they can run, but can't hide from the reality of shitty sales...

  • @MrUShoe

    "commercial failure" "shitty sales"

    XD XD

thanks for the good laugh, you obviously don't know what radiohead (and music in general) is all about.

  • is this a radiohead song cause ive never heard it before

  • @philbag85 Its by Can when Malcolm Mooney was in the group.

  • Malcom Mooney and CAN. Wow. I listened to CAN song and said, wow this sounds like readio head before i ever heard this cover.

  • The Thief... hail to it

  • awesome video thanks!

  • does someone know where i can download it?? (legally i swear !! ! !)

  • que d'emotions

  • i believe the video clips are from the original Howard Hawks SCARFACE. is this the Thief that Radiohead told us to Hail To ?

  • @jewboyjwr It was titled Hail To The Thief after the 2000 US presidential elections after the way things turned out for Bush in Florida, but Thom also said that "If the motivation for naming our album had been based solely on the recent U.S. election, I'd find that to be pretty shallow."

  • @ogitrev5002 whoa, i didnt know that. thanks.

  • @jewboyjwr

the movie in the beginning of the clip is ''public enemy'' with James cagney. The next movie is ''scarface''. The movie where the guy gets shot in the back is ''the roaring twenties'' wich is also with cagney.

  • @jewboyjwr A Personal Journey with Martin Scorsese Through American Movies

  • cough cough Thief

  • @Azrael1 LOL

  • Kudos to the cover, but NOTHING beats the agonised intensity of Mooney's vocal. The guy was losing his mind and you can hear it. Also, there is the blackness - like Carl Anderson in JC Superstar, Mooney's agony seems so raw. Yorke's a good singer but Mooney is just more REAL, frighteningly and heartbreakingly so.

  • i think this is a nice tribute to "can".

so many sample, cover them, but not much people know can

  • @themusicmatterz And to understand what it's about, you have to understand the backgroud: Can is this german band, but their singer was an african american man who eventually left due to mental health reasons. He felt lonely and isolated and homesick. Thus, the lyrics go like this:

"Why must I be the thief?

He said to the hanging man

And how come you're the only one

That's black around, that always stares?"

  • @themusicmatterz This is a cover. The original was made in the 1970' s by can.

  • Someone knows if "fall away" is a b-side of King of Limbs???

  • @sandresressand no, it isn't

  • @sandresressand it is not. it's self made b-side of nude i guess

  • this song should has a studio version.. come on Radiohead!!!

  • @InARainbows This isn't their song! It's Can's, who were a brilliant krautrock band in the 1970's and 80's

  • damn i wanted to see what happens with those guys at the end.

  • @INTERPOLFAN17 i kno....me 2!!!!

  • this is maybe the greatest advert black and white mob movies have ever had. nice video

  • Muse are from Australia, not UK >>??

  • @Alanofoxy fucking idiot

  • @Alanofoxy They're from Teignmouth, in Devon. But yeah I can totally see where you got Australia from...

  • @radioface350 Tbh i just thought i heard it someplace or something :L never really questioned it, but yeah, i was wrong anyway :P

  • fucking kings of limbs sucks this song is bad ass

  • @pingui0987 King of Limbs was pretty good... it was just experimental even by Radiohead's standards. I'm kinda new to Radiohead but I haven't heard a song that had as much falsetto in it as Lotus Flower.

  • @6KingCooper6 what meant when it suck ass cause ti does si that it doesn't sound any good i didn't like listne to inrainbow and the bends when he use to playguitar with the musici and even in song like paranoid android and karma police he uses an acustic guitar and makes it sound fucking crazy liek exit music for a film you dont get that on king of limb you only get a bunch of noise and ocomputter effects

  • @pingui0987 Alright I can see where you're coming from there.

  • @6KingCooper6 i do got a lot of grammar problems but you know i meant

  • What album is this on?

  • @surroundedbyasses This is a Can cover. It was released in 1982 on the album 'Delay', which consisted of a number of previously unreleased Can songs from 1968 to '69. Radiohead were planning on playing it at Amnesty International (December 10, '98) but decided not to at the last minute. They finally played it in Denmark (September 8, 00) and it has since been in and out of their setlists throughout the 2000 and 2001 tours.

  • Radiohead are one of the few UK bands left with any substance and artfulness. Bless to them and others like PJ Harvey, Tricky, Portishead, Depeche Mode, Gary Numan, Massive Attack, The XX, Scroopius Pip, AllFlaws

  • @fluffycake1 and Muse

  • @fluffycake1 What about MUSE? =)

  • @fluffycake1

good, you didn't put Muse in it

  • @fluffycake1 I was releaved when I didn't see the names Muse or Coldplay there

  • @etejuanete3 Muse ... is good.... c'mon really?

  • @brockenbones

but not good enough for being there ok I'll be honest with you... I don't like them... like...at all

  • @fluffycake1 Pfff, one of the only UK bands left with any substance and arftulness? You're obviously very limited in what you listen to. Go into some indie record stores and check out some real music that gets ignored by radio.

  • What hasn't got the substance and artfulness it used to, are radio stations. Even the so-called Alternative stations have their version of "Commercial Alternative" and never play anything outside that square.

  • @fluffycake1 I think these are some of the few international bands, actually.

  • @fluffycake1 you should charge for those name drops. thanks dude

  • I cant believe that this was live.

  • if you like radio head then ——————/´ ¯/) —————--/—-/ —————-/—-/ ———--/´¯/'--'/´¯`·_ ———-/'/--/—-/—--/¨¯\ ——--('(———- ¯~/'--') ———\————-'—--/ ———-'\'————_-·´ ————\———--(—
  • @Drew927 the fuck is that supposed to be?

  • Sounds like Man O War

  • @chrispeptide Interesting...I'll keep that in mind....."Thom"

  • @chrispeptide

Oohh dude. Whaat the fuck. lol you made my day.

  • can's version's way better. this actually sucks

  • 15 justin bieber's fan juz did it..

  • Both songs are great, but no doubt prefer Thom's vocals over Can's.

  • @Radiohead1984 I think you are wrong. the voice of malcom mooney is much more transcendental. even if i like Radiohead.

  • @Radiohead1984 fair opinion but no doubt Malcolms invented a new style with his vocals, always loved the purposely rough edges of his performance, for me, its the point of the song.

  • cool

  • I heard the bit at 0:52 was a real machine gun being fired at Jimmy Cagney's head as he ducked behind that wall.

  • @riclmnopp

that could be simply for the fact that we're only 3 months into the year..

    but still, choice album!

  • 14 people never stole sumtin.

  • I heard them play this live many years ago at Shoreline Amp in the bay area. Awesome performance, as always. Hope they tour here again.

  • this is a live cover... not a new song... just in case some of you were confused...

  • Can is awesome and there original is good, but this version is quite special. especially the instrumental

  • brilliant

  • this song is amazing! i'm guessing its live as well?

  • this isn't on the king of limbs

  • name of the song?

  • what song is this

  • j'adore!

  • this song in not in the king of limbs, where do you take it from?

  • j'adore!

  • shit self indulgent joke of a band

  • i will sneak myself into your pocket

invisible, do what you want, do what you want

  • Best cover ever it must be radiohead song

  • which song is that, its not on the new album :/

  • ya, this isnt on the new album to everybody thinking that it is because of the title

  • If you don't like this you must be deaf or something.

  • i'm after the first hearing .. and it's poor... there's nearly no guitars :(

  • @brytanlodz

    Iol

    no guitars = it's poor?

    yah Nicklebeck rule man

  • @NamelessATM Nickelback sucks... I miss radiohead's guitars :(

  • @brytanlodz
