IF we would all truly follow God's Word, it says that no one that is divorced can remarry. I believe that is true, but look at all the pastors that remarry divorced people. If you are widowed you may remarry, or if you are married to an unbeliever and the unbeliever walks away then God says to let them go, and you are free to marry again.
Sween, your comments are correct, however, the book of John clearly walks us through the path to forgiveness. You cannot know what is in Ms. Grant's heart, nor can you know if she has repented to God and asked for His forgiveness. My sister and I sang this song at our church when we were younger for my dad on father's day. it was the first time he had ever heard us sing and was glad it was this song cause he knew what we meant by singing it, for him and for our Lord.

IF we would all truly follow God's Word, it says that no one that is divorced can remarry. I believe that is true, but look at all the pastors that remarry divorced people. If you are widowed you may remarry, or if you are married to an unbeliever and the unbeliever walks away then God says to let them go, and you are free to marry again.

Sween, your comments are correct, however, the book of John clearly walks us through the path to forgiveness. You cannot know what is in Ms. Grant's heart, nor can you know if she has repented to God and asked for His forgiveness. The thing that bothers me is that her and Vince have never come clean about the extra-marital affair. They deny everything. Sin cannot be forgiven if it is not confessed. God changes people in His own timing and in his own way. Each day we come to Him for forgiveness & repentance, it is there. Are your sins worse? She still uses her talent and keeps walking. It takes all we have just to walk. But for the grace of God. Focus on God for yourself. We all have enough to wrestle with.

Interesting words spoken by someone who i must assume is a great defender of the faith.
But a question, Who is the bigger stumbling block? The sinner or her accuser ... We have all sinned and come short of the Glory of God.
People Need Jesus ... It tends to confuse people that we "the Church" preach about God's forgiveness but when a brother or sister stumbles ... we shoot our own wounded.

When Amy Grant sings about loving God, the obvious question to ask is: Then, why dont you believe Him and keep His commandments? When they heard Him say that they went away one by one because they realized that they themselves were not without sin in their own lives.
