Well you just disappointed me...Isocrates was interested to achieve the unification of all greek cities into one powerful state against Persia. He attributed some superficial 'Greek' credentials to Macedonians in order to attract them to be allies of Greece or to get the leadership of Greece.

Isocrates addresses fellow Greek Phillip of Macedon (father of Megas Alexandros / Alexanderr the Great):
"consider all Hellas, your fatherland, as did the founder of your race."
All Macedonian history, symbols, language is Greek. Makedonia is a very old Greek name and homeland.
