use experimentals...? I used a pair of GCs to destroy the first bases, save the town, AND destroy that experimental nearing Fletcher.

You have as much time as you want to. All you have to do is destroy all of enemies stuff EXCEPT the mission objectives! You know that the map will expand if you finish your current mission, so DON'T finish it, instead build yourself up. You can win any given mission of the campaign with this other than the very few ones where you have a time limit.

forged alliance actually need much more . since gameplay is seen in full screen. not shrinked. so it require more.

Actually it needs less when it's in full screen. In vanilla there was a noticeable performance increase when the UI was turned off. Meh. I just bought 2gb of RAM and an Nvidia GeForce 7300 to play this. =P
