  • Smartest decision ever made by the lighting guy at a concert, keep them on at 5:25

  • que genial solo'''¡¡¡¡

  • FUCK YES.

  • EPIC!

  • seen the 6 times. better every show

  • What a coincidence, Fade to Black, Welcome Home (Sanitarium), One and The Day That Never Comes have similar structures because they contain an acoustic introduction, followed by a riff by Kirk Hammett, three guitar solos and an explosive ending. And they are the song number 4 on their albums. Again, WHAT A COINCIDENCE

  • I had a chance to see Metallica with Guns n Roses but I got into trouble for sneaking out of the house. I am still bummed to this day. They took my sister instead she was like ten, that was fucked up she didnt even know who they were

  • To hell if i was 4 years old back in 89...i would have been there... with the devil horns... and a juice box lol

  • I love cliff and i love jason

    coz i love metallica!

  • i was thinking why 2 people would dislike this song and truly i didnt find any answer to this question couz this song is fucking great!!!

  • @HENDRIXREBORN93 wrong st angers sucks here death magnetic is ok and other point to say that you are bad they were calling sell out since 1984 so that isnt new for they and cliff said if they call us sell out then whatever we do what we want to do

  • music's good, rythme is perfect, jame's voice at its best.

it's definitely, the horsmen's best years

    peace

  • I hate how all of the young teens these day (I'm 14) listen that shitty stuff they call music (Justin bieber and other gay sellouts) these day. Good bands like Metallica, Van Halen, and Led Zeplin are becoming more and more unheard of as time goes by! Plus other teens are not trying anymore to learn instruments, it's just sad! But aaanyway, this video is A-M-A-Z-I-N-G!!!

  • @montagecrew i feel every single word! im 16 play the piano and guitar! MetallicA

  • Where can I get tabs for 6:12-6:30?

  • @ASavageMuffin google ultimate-guitar

  • @ASavageMuffin just look for it as the outro solo!

  • i dont think any band is ever gonna top this

  • @DiSinTegRatoR14 yup, best concert that was given in a long time, and i dont think that it has been topped since then....

  • @NoName01071992

    maybe acdc in donnington

    that was great too

  • @MrAcdz Thats right! love that concert too....shame guns n roses never gave a realy big concert that was this great tho....always or xl stopping the show, or the sound quality sucking, or some other reason why itcouldnt be like this....

  • Damn, I was born too fuckin' late!!!

  • @golfersamy91 Same here :((

  • metallica rocks!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @HENDRIXREBORN93 load sucks

  • Thumbs up if you were born later than 1990 ..

wish i were born earlier .,. Dammit

  • People make posts about cliff or jason or 1980's or 1990's Metallica, who cares!!!! This stuff is AWESOME!!. Just enjoy the postings. Metallica's Seattle DVD is their best performance of just about every song on there. MOP from Seattle 1989 beats the crap out of the album version. As does this version of ONE!!!!.

  • @EazYJaM

Are you REALLY including Load and Reload in the good years? I nearly slit my wrists after listening to those albums, couldn't believe beloved Metallica from youth had gone forever. And you just can't head bang with short hair, and they were damn good at that.

  • @HENDRIXREBORN93 your totally right metallica have pretty much become mainstream now a days. its a sad site to see but they are media whores lol :P wish they would go back to the pre-load era when they were in their prime!

  • metallica in seatle 89, its worth to print in the history books! rock!

  • Got to say the cameramen and editors deserve some sort of award. Awesome work, it really sets off the performance and makes it even better.

  • I wish Kirk still played Jackson "V"s... his tone became so swarky when he moved to ESP...Lead sound on first three albums is smooth but aggressive...now he sounds like a cockatoo with bad roids, sorry krk fans dont mean to bag the dude...

  • This concert was Metallica at their peak in my opinion. Man, it can't get more epic or metal than this.

  • The greatest Metallica concert, and one of the best metal concerts ever performed.

  • briliant

  • James's voice was amazing from like 88 to 92

  • his voice still amazing! his live performance today are not good as there but he still with a good voice!!

  • @xxxSchwartzyxxx and then he blew it out =(

  • @xCMxMach Nothing that good can last. It's as if you took his balls and put them right in his throat. Fucking amazing. His voice is still cool though, I've just seen them live and he sang really fucking well.

  • @FTWWHM Yeah i know, lol A man can only have God's voice for a short period of time,

  • What the hell happened there? We'll never get that feeling. Never fucking again.

  • Listen to a song of reggaeton, is disgusting. the worst that could invent

  • are you talking about reggeaton (or whatever it is written) in a metallica video? are you mad?¿?¿?¿ that shitty music shouldnt even exist!

  • I've said it before and I'll say it again kirk is good.

  • I'm the worst of all, I'm from Colombia, and the music of this region is reggaeton, a cheap copy of rap, composite with electronics. The worst music in history.

the philosophy of metal will prevail

  • eh reagaeton worst then rap its dumb asses counting and it shouldnt be compared with music it shouldnt even have the word raggae in it cuz some raggae is actually okay music

  • what a taping

  • Metallica are one of the countless reasons why I should have been born a decade or two earlier!!! Being born in 1993 is okay, but I'm growing up with damned Hip-Hop, Rap and shit like that!

I want rock and metal to be the main music of the world, and not some shitty Lil' Wayne, Chipmunk or 50 Cent!!!

    ALL HAIL ROCK/METAL!!!!!!!!!!

  • @GGGriggs

I feel with you men. Being born in this part of time sucks. Everyone walks around with the damn Hip-Hop Bullshit, talking about niggas, bitches, drugs and so on.

I have luck, i have 2 other friends who are into metallica too. but the rest of my location sucks.

  • Same with me...I live in an area obsessed with shit like that, and I have very few friends who actually love Metallica too...

I was once told that only intelligent musicians understand what true rock and metal is...Listening to God-like stuff like Metallica justifies that!

    :-D

  • dude rock from this time is no worse then that shit u claimk to call(good rap and hip hop) and metal talks about bitchs and drugs just as much as rap

  • @GGGriggs I hear ya. I can say I was alive when this was filmed but not enough to enjoy it. Kill rap!!

  • Rap, Hip-Hop and all that shit should be dead! Rock and Metal IS music, and it should be international law that ALL must bow down to the World Of Rock/Metal!!!

    :-D

    X-D

    \m/ \m/

  • lol i used to think like you man dont get me wrong i love metallica and thrash but modern day rock is almost as bad as lil wayne(btw those are not examples of good rap just saying there is actually good shit out there trust me)i mean u have all these bands like popa roach capatilizing on the fact that kids feel out kast from modern society so they write "lyrics" about that generic shit that ppl "relate" to but so far u have some what of a good taste i mean ur listening to(good old) metallica!!

  • Exactly my point!

    :-D

Modern rock isn't really as good as rock from the good old 80s (my favourite decade for music), and I'm 16 years old, and I really don't listen much to modern stuff...All my music is either Metallica and other heavy metal bands from the 80s like Iron Maiden, AC/DC and Led Guns 'N' Roses!

    :-D

Well, Guns 'N' Roses aren't thrash metal, but they're still great!

    :-D

  • i used to love all that shit but trust me if u look really hard out side of old rock (and rock in general) theres some really great music acdc get kinda old after a while (i think all there stuff sounds exactly the same but that just my oppinion) maidens great and i never liked g and r they kinda just ripped off alot of way older glam bands i think there a little over rated (and the 80s had some great music but there was alot of shit in it too) but yeah trust me even some modern music is great

  • Well, my favourite modern rock bands are Turbonegro, CKY, HIM, and my favourite "modern" band, Lordi.

    :-D

Metallica is my favourite, and the greatest, band that ever lived!!!

    :-D

  • if u like turbonegro ud love like any from of garge rock listen to the hives and the stooges

  • I've heard of 'em, but I've never actually heard any of their stuff...I'll have a listen though......

    :-)

  • for instance glam lol...in the words of dave musatne glam = gay. los angelous. metal

  • wut about death magnetic EazYjAM

  • worst quality ever

  • great music

  • cliff is dead remember that... its a shame.but what can we do? just forget that.. he was very good but like i sad is dead.. so get up your head and keep rocking!!!

  • from 80's to end 90's music was good.

    now only shit.

thanks god for that fuckin' crazy years!

  • Hmm... What about 60's and 70's man?Was music very good or shit too?Mainstream is now 90% shit but you can still find something interesting on You Tube or My Space.

  • @EazYJaM yea thows were the days

  • @EazYJaM it isn't only shit the new album is a great album which can be compared with the old stuff. and the music in the 90's wasn't metallica, you know, they did some kind of hard rock. that is not metallicas style but they are back!

  • @VERspanis death magnetic sucks..and black album is a great album

  • @Rocker095150 Death Magnetic is ok, a few great tracks. and the black album. I don't care how much it sells, it was the decline of Metallica. A bunch of slow radio friendly tracks. only half the album is listenable

  • @Rocker095150 load and re-load where bad but death magnetic is fucking awesome

  • @EazYJaM

well you have right at some points

but death magnetic is good, very good.

  • @EazYJaM I really wish I was alive back then

  • @EazYJaM they still rock death magnetic is fucking awesome

  • @EazYJaM AHAH ! The last Metallica's album are so good too. So...

  • @EazYJaM there still good even now!!!!

  • I think this is one Kirk's nicest solos ever.

  • The best concerto of metallica men!!

    i serious! /,,/

  • Cliff, Jason, Cliff, Jason

Its all the same on every freakin seattle 89 video just enjoy this masterpiece of a concert ..

  • Dude, your like totally right

  • when i heard this version first i thought it was speed up. :-?

  • I still think James and Lars were total cocks for cutting the bass out of this album and treating Jason like shit over the years, but this song is brilliant, that must be said.

What Im saying is, Metallica as people are rockstar bitches with too much money but as musicians are brilliant.

  • mate, too bad u cannot understand why actually they cut Jason's bass out and disrespected him,and though neither do I think that's ok,i do understand their behaviour because of Cliif's loss....trust me,they aren't bitches....

  • @ItsMyWorldNow7

Cliff wouldn't have approved of the bass cutting either. Loss or not, what they did was inexcusable, and they haven't even tried to make up for it by having the album remastered or anything...

  • i think they need to kick the fucking retard whos playing for them now and bring jason back i mean he played at there induction to the rock and roll hall of fame

  • @Grimeyhoob

James apparently is just a regular guy outside of the band. He turned down an autograph for my friend because he was being "family James" instead of "Metallica James."

  • What was your friend's reaction to being turned down for an autograph?

    Must've been painful...

    <:-/

  • @GGGriggs Not too sure what it was, I'd imagine disappointment. It does make for an interesting story, though.

  • Yeah, it does...

    :-)

  • seek n destroy was the best song, the solo is incredible!!

  • Man

    Best Concert Ever

    Literally

  • I got goosebumps for the double bass=P

joey jordison and lars= best double bass drummers of all time!

  • i hate joey jordison so much, so overrated

  • the greatest metallica's concert...fantastic

  • cliff was great, but he didn't MAKE metallica. A band is a team, not one man. Everything metallica did after his death was greaat! Load and Reload were different, still great. St Anger sounded fucked, but still had great songs! Death Magnetic kicks all haters in their nuts.

  • I fucking agee with you thank you finally someone likes everything metallica made even if some of it wasnt the best

  • If i had a time machine. I'd bring Cliff back to life. He was the soul of Metallica. After his death many things changed.

  • No kidding man. R.I.P Cliff Burton best bassist ever!!

  • @MrFlyingNacho

id go back to woodstock 69

  • best live recording of one by farr

  • why the fuck was i born in the nineties :D

  • I KNOW RIGHT!!!!

  • call me crazy but for me this is a real piece of art... like beethoven's music of the 20 century xDDD

  • It IS art, man. Tell me an other band which wrote a 7 minutes-long song about euthanism with 3 guitar solos! Anyone? I don't think that anyone did it. There aren't any songs even poems about euthanism

  • actually i dont know if there are more songs or poems about this topic... but i do love this song though;)

by the way, dont you think it would be perfect to have more metallica instrumental songs? i love them.. orion, to live is to die, and the call of ktulu ... real music!

  • Well, I think that playing the instrumentals is difficult for James, Kirk and Lars because of Cliff you know...He wrtoe the whole bass line for Ktulu, Orion was played at his funeral and they did not perform it until 2006, and to live is to die was written in memory of him. So I don't think they will do too many performs of these songs. They played Ktulu 5 years ago, Orion 2 years ago and Suicide and Redemption this summer, so they play them very rarely

  • yea i know they played orion in 2006 because of the 20 anniversary of master of puppets... (i wonder if we'll have to wait until 2016 to see them playing orion again xD)... i think they have enough experience to make instrumental songs, but for some reason they dont want to... maybe they need more inspiration i dont know..

  • Suicide and Redemption is instramental

  • yepp!

  • idk I would say that yeah Lars was a great drummer but there are better drummers out there. Dave Lombardo, Nick Menza, and Gar Samuelson imo were better than Lars.

  • Dave Lombardo no doubt is better than Lars.I like Metallica better but Im not going to lie

  • I think Lars is as good as Dave, just hear Dyers Eve. Of course Lombardo is insane too They are both the best in my opinion, but metallica is no doubt better than slayer

  • (i would like to say chris adler and joey jordison as well, but i dnt want to get trolled and cussed at just because i like joey jordison)

  • I've never seen Kirk nail the solo like THIS

  • Metallica always play the slow parts of the song slower than usual and the fast parts faster than usual.

  • is it just me or did kirk look like a teenager back then

  • no me too, cool isn't it? :D

  • best performance ever, its like the essence of badass manifested itself on guitar, with god singing vocals; and to think they're drunk as fuck rofl. \m/ metallica!

  • Really good!!

this is problaly the best one perfomance but the s&m is very good aswell!

  • Agree!

And comparing to Lar's Drum from all the lives, seattle is my favourite, so "romantically" energetic and legendary

go so well with jason's "heavy" bass

  • Back then Lars really was the best heavy metal drummer there was. He isn't anymore though. He's still good but he's getting old..

  • ya ur right. lars was the best drummer but his age is starting to catch up with him. best drummer in my opinion now is tommy lee but lars is right behind him

  • that makes no sense because Tommy is 2 years older then Lars.

  • hes still a good drummer though and it does make sense. lars isnt as good as he used to be because of his age but that doesnt mean someone his age or older can be better

  • yeah i see what you mean,. your right aha..

  • Imagine John Bonham in the trash metal scene.. that would be phenomenal

  • that would be insane HAHA.

  • Nothing's wrong with Lars , he can still perform the way he did back when Metallica even started

  • LEGANDARY version! ONE of a kind!

  • 5:27 - 6:00 :D fantastic :)

  • woaaah, lars got the skills back that day. wish hed still be playin like dat

  • I wanna be there...holy shit

  • I love metallica! I love metallica! I love metallica!

  • they're like gods to me. really.

  • I have read that the Stones ranked Kirk

among the 20 best living guitar players.

Did they actually listen to masterpieces

like "Harvester of Sorrow", "Master of

Puppets" or "One" ??? These songs, and

    in paticular Kirk' s solos,clearly

outclass anything the Stones might have

composed. Kirk should have been ranked

among the five best guitar players of all

    times !!!

  • The Rolling Stone magazine, not the band you idiot!

  • Hahahahahahahaahahahahahahahahaa

  • yeahhhhhhh

  • dude i favorited master of puppets seatlle... FUCK YEAH! METALLICA!

  • i think this was one of Metallica's best concerts..... HELL YEAH!

  • i think it was the greatest bro i havent seen a better performance, have you seen master of puppets in this concert? FUCKING UNBELIEVEABLE!!!!

  • i love for how the solo.. it is a shred solo at first.. then becomes melodic

  • that's kirk for ya! he is the most strange guitarist, in a good way. hell shred one min. melodic the next. he plays metal and at the same time is influenced by bb king and santana and bluesier players!

  • He influenced by loads of genres of music even classical =]

and hes played those genres all the time

and thats why he is such a good guitarist,

guitarist shouldnt just stick to learning one genre then not learn anything else lmao

otherwise, in my opinion its pointless, have fun learning new genres and making up your own stuff from them, would be fun and funny to do lol

and Kirk is a legend! and yesh he is very strange ina good way, hes one off the best guitarist in the world to me! \m/

  • Yep, and if he just stuck to metal, Metallica wouldn't be as amazing as they are. Kirk blended just about everything into his style, blues, classical, metal, 60's - 70's rock styles

He is my ALL TIME favorite!

  • Damn right,

if i could meet 4 famous Guitarist of all time

    they would be

Kirk, Joe Satriani, Dimebag & Jimi Hendrix

Kirk is a fucking emense guitarist and its like most guitarist say there is ALWAYS something new to learn on guitar, that from chords to making up your own material in different Genres lol =]

  • I got, Kirk, James, Cliff, Dimebag.

  • Cliff was a bassist, but he was the best bassist I ever met ;)

  • my favorite guitarist is james hetfield! but kirks pretty amazing too

  • I love the way Kirk holds his pick, it's like he's saying "Fuck You Mustaine" lol

  • This is pure fuckin' music!!

  • This shit is too pure, amazing.

  • Best live, best band, best song EVER... no words for describe this.... METALLICA RULES!!!!!

  • DAMN man !..look at the setlist of this concert 100% FUCKING PURE METAAAAAAAL !!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I love it when the drums come in at 4:05

  • ya and people think its so easy though they dont realize that its the bass pedal

  • That part is worthy of a millin headbangs, its epic shit man.

  • Man, Kirk was very young at this show, but he was really really good ( of course )

  • Best song ever :) metallica for ever

  • awesome! hey Is Kirk using a Jackson RR5?

  • nah, its a custom rhoads, its more like an RR1 but it has EMG pickups

  • lol for real

    metallica fucking rocks!

  • ha ha compare this to the jonas brothers. i hate those fags!

  • See my one "thumb up"-commentrating that I'm limited to as one million thumbs up ;)

  • Haha cmon you can't compare those fags with Metallica.... the totally suck and if you put them next to Metallica.... they would suck even more

  • Fuck yeah man.

  • Kirk is a Wizard !!!

  • fucking talented band

  • for me this was metallica at his best!!

  • damn this was 20 years ago

  • ffs, that fast

  • i love the way krik just taps his foot and gets on with the solo.

  • Thats the closest i ever it heard played live and sound similar to the recording. Now a days they play it like a whole step down...

  • fuckin greatest band ever!

  • What I don't get is that in the intro you can hear helicopters, there where no helicopters in WW1, not until Vietnam. Kinda weird that they would throw that in there.

  • Why do you assume it's WW1?? Besides WW1 has nothing to do with Vietnam.
