when i downloadredsnow and the firmeware for the i pod they downoad as zip files how do i turn them into normal file and when u go into redsnow and click browse i click on the i pod firmeware there is nothing in the file to open but if i go to my computer>desktop>ipod firmeware all the stuff is there does any one know how to solve this problem

@McGreevy545 bro you have the rename the download file .. your iPod firmware.. you have to CLEAR " .zip " and rename the ENDING with " .ipsw "

I followed your instructions along wth plenty others and no matter what, EVERY time its complete it shows teh usb and the itunes logo, any idea? im on the ipad baseband...and using 4.2.1 fw

@nickbutler123 the only reason it could occur is when you are having 3GS with new Bootroom or iPhone 4... This is called as tethered jailbreak! ths only cure at this moment is DO NOT TURN OFF YOU PHONE. keep it running.. and Use Re-Spring inorder to rfresh the phone.

The un-tethered jailbreak for 3GS new bootroom and iPhone 4 or iPad 3G or 4G is comming! soon.. follow my blog for that.

I have a little question, I have firmware 4.1 but baseband 5.15.04.. this still work for me??

and, its only showing slide to emergency call(when sim is in).If i remove the sim its showing No sim card installed.Insert a valid sim with no pin lock to activate iphone.

Is the first time for me unlocking a phone, your help will be amazing!!

@zumbidu11 I do have a 3G, and follow your instructions, but.. my phone turns off 10min (aprox) after the reboot.. I tried already 3 times, and nothing... the redsnow keeps "working" but my phone is out =( what should I do now???

i'm a little confused. i have an iPhone 3G, with baseband 6.15. I need to update and jailbreak it in iOS 4.2.1, because i have to recover the backup files into the phone (for phone numbers etc), can i do that with my phone at this time?

@Vortex8856 well regarding your issue.. i think you already have iOS 4.2.1 but if you still need to restore then

first RUN iTunes .. make sure you download latest iTunes.. After that SYNC all you contacts to your computer.

after done... but you cant restore to iOS 4.2.1 again because you have beaseband 4.2.1. there's a way to restore to iOS 4.1 .. you can try that follow my blog for that
