  • Just watched the film again last night; when you consider that it was made in 1968, all the space craft look fantastic...

  • really pretty and with interiors!! bad close up....

  • really pretty and with interiors!!

  • A very nice looking kit!!

  • Bitchin'!

  • Really great looking kit. Can you look inside the cockpit once assembled?

  • @ModelloursWorkshop Yes, but it's dark. It would need an led inside to show it off. I tried to get a shot, but it was too dark.

  • Hey Tom, are these models made with machined molds? I have a CNC mill and I've been playing with machining resin molds in Al blocks. I've been wanting to do Soviet and American space launch vehicles. How are these molds made? Do you know? Any pointers you can throw my way?

  • @TalksWithDirt I don't know the specific process used for these molds, but usually the molds are rubber with resin positives for masters to cast the mold from.

  • @ModelManTom I haven't tried any mold making yet, but it's on my list of skills to develop.

  • Wow, amazing. I loved that ship when I was a kid. Now that I'm a spaceflight engineer I know it would never make orbit. I'd love to see that model right next to a space shuttle orbiter with both being 1/144. I'm going to watch 2001 and look for that Il spaceplane.

  • @TalksWithDirt Shit. I did want to show it next to my 144 shuttle. I forgot til now.
