Hey, Pooter. This is hard to explain, especially in our generation of tolerance. What needs to be first understood is God's justice. He is just with a purity we almost can't comprehend. He hates sin (loves people though), absolutely hates sin. In the OT, Jesus had not yet died for redemption of sins. So when people would rebel against God and choose sin, He would rightfully demand justice. He never, and I do mean never, punished innocent people. (I'll finish this in reply to your next comment)

I don't think Haitians really need to be told the salvation story - they know that better than americans do! I think the problem is they run it like a game.
