  • Thank you for taking the time to give us this video.

  • It is great story. I have the 28 minute long video tape. However, there was no ALCAN in 1939. That wasn't in existence until 1942, built by the U S Army Corp of Engineers in agreement with Canada.

  • @poppawheelie2 Right, the premiss of their trip was to prove it could be done and get the public support behind it. I used the world ALCAN as a key work in the title to get people to associate the trip with the video and what it was about. I didn't know there was a video about it....where did you get it?

  • @1jbunceiii

Can't remember where I got it, probably Whitehorse Press. Don't see it on Amazon. It's a 1993 copyright by KAKM Video in Anchorage, Alaska. They still have a website, but I don't see "Slim & John's Great Adventure" there either.

  • Sweet ! THIS is true Moto Adventure Touring ! . -Nate

  • what motorcycles gave was true freedom. you could basically fix the bike without being enslaved by dealerships. that freedom rarely exists now.

  • GReat job, should be titled "Blizzard meets a porcupine" lol

  • @TheStroupdog Thanks! I think what they did was a GREAT journey...no wal-mart for miles! how ever did they make it!

  • @douglasklogan1

  • I would totally do something like that!! I'm trying to talk my wife into letting me ride from Southern Chile back home. Talks aren't going that good...yet but I think she'll come around.

  • Now that IS a trip!! What an adventure and to do that without an of the gear that we deem as "must have" stuff!! Crazy the way they lashed the two bikes together to carry the dog.

  • @YoungAmericanOutback I know isnt that awesome! I have not seen that before either. I'd like to try that sometime.......
