  • anyone know where i can find one of these guns!!!

  • HAVE YOU EVER GOTTEN YOUR BEARD CAUGHT ON THE ACTION OF A GUN?

  • @1IIIIIIIIII1 BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA.

  • That's a good version of the GP-100, but I still like the Ruger Security-Six. The full underlugs give the gun a "blocky" feeling. This particular gun is very well balanced--much better than other GP-100s. I see no reason for Ruger to have dumped the "Six" line of revolvers. Jest mah two cents, yessir!

  • The Six series was, according to Bill Ruger, too expensive for them to manufacture and sell at a competitive price. However, I agree. The Six series weapons are my all-time favorite 357 magnum revolvers.

    Jeff

  • Which do you feel is better balanced: The GP100 in this video or the newly released SP101 in 4 inch barrel ?

  • That is subjective, but I prefer the feel of the SP.

    Jeff

  • @Gunblastdotcom I will check both out at the shot show next month.

  • I have one. Very nice pistol

  • Great vid. Love the GP's. Where can I get one of those come take it flags? That is awesome!

  • It is available from Seven Brothers Mercantile (sevenbros-dot-com) for only $4.99. Measures 3x5 feet with 2 grommets. Search for "M4 Come and Take It Flag", item number fsh-m4. We have no financial interest, it's just a cool flag that everyone should own.

  • Jeff you need to convince Ruger to release the same package for the sp101 with a 3 inch barrel.

  • @404Matt o hell yes.

  • I can only dream of shooting that well.

  • Dang, that is some good shooting! Especially for double action.

  • What good is 15, 17, or even 20 rounds if you can't hit what you're aiming at?

  • I agree with the above poster - would love to see you and Hickok together doing a long video with a bunch of guns...

  • @1celts79 That would be awesome. When they are done plinking they could sit on Hickoks porch and film themselves shooting the breeze. These two need their own shows on Nat Geo.

  • Sweet gun, Jeff. You make some good points about capacity and such that we all would do well to remember. I sure missed this one - didn't know this Wiley Clapp model existed. I love a 3" revolver and trading off my 3" GP100 is one of those guns I regret letting get away.

    Hickok45

  • Simply beautiful and my gunsmith says he rarely has worked on Rugers since they just don't break down.

  • Excellent Shooting with the short barrel .357 Jeff, I wish the special edition guns from Ruger were more readily available in Canada, we are also not allowed to have anything shorter the the 4.2 inch model, but I love the GP 100, Thanks for doing a review on it.

  • Jeff, thanks for ya'll do at GunBlast. Anytime I meet someone who is new to shooting I always recommend your online magazine, and your You Tube channel.

    Ya'll always do it right!

  • Thank you, sir.

  • Love what Jeff said about the chairborn rangers and mall ninjas thinking that you need a bullet hose for self defense. While wheelguns might not be 'trendy' with such types today, they are just as effective as they ever were with fighting men - and women who have used them successfully to save the day for the past century.

  • Jeff,

I love the Mernickle holster, can you give us more details, I can not find in on their website. As a lefty, I love the cross draw.

  • It is the FC3. Call Bob Mernickle and tell him you want one just like mine, with the bear paw. He will know what you need.

    Jeff

  • @Gunblastdotcom Thanks Jeff, keep up the work love what you do and share

  • @outward2006 I like how the "safety warning" on this model is simplified and not as wordy as on the standard models. A much cleaner look

  • Nice gun and good shooting, Jeff!

  • i have a gp100 in .357 but it has what ruger called "target finish" is stainless with a grey finish... its the only one i have seen like it...

  • @danthman114 That Target Gray finish is cool and indeed rare on a GP100. My dad's Super RedHawk 454 has the same gray finish. Ruger does not offer this anymore, unless they do a special run in that color/finish. Ya guys, this GP100 isnt on the RUger webpage yet. Im sure it will be there within a week or two.

  • very nice

  • Great grouping!

  • @freeheretic111 Jeff got this video out - to my knowledge - a few weeks before wholesalers will even get them shipped in. I would not expect Ruger to get this gun on the site until September.

  • Jeff is way out ahead of everybody with this review.

  • Now that is some fine shooting. I do have the SP101 in 3 inch barrel (and GP100 in 6 inch barrel.) I will check out the .38 ammo you mentioned and see how it shoots out of my SP101.

  • Damn those cicadas are so noisy.

  • I looked also, and could not find it.

    jeff

  • Great gun, nice finish

Just picked the 3in ss gp100

    It is a tank

If theres more than six evil doers you could always pistol whip a few

    That holster does look sharp

  • Beautiful gun. But i ended up being more intrested with that lovely holster. Awesome video

  • man if u teamed up with hickok45 for a vid, it would be epic

  • The GP 100 with a 4" barrel was my first LEO duty weapon, had a break front holster. great review

  • Quick question, Jeff. I have a GP-100 at home that is the standard blued 6 inch model. I need to get the new rear sight from Bowen's shop, and while I'm at it, I intend to get a new set of grips. Do you have any recommendations for custom grips for the Ruger outside of Hogue?

  • I like the feel of the Ruger grips the best, but like the functionality of the Crimson Trace lasergrip. Also check with Eagle Grips for some great-looking wood grips for the GP100.

    Jeff

  • @Gunblastdotcom I like the Ruger/Hogue grips as well, but the finger grooves are much too big for my hands if I try to grip the gun like I would want to.

  • I love revolvers....

  • Jeff does a great job here.

  • My favorite Ruger double action. i have a 6" in .357 that I use as a backup hog gun and also as a winter time concealed carry piece. Built like a tank. Great video Jeff!

  • @frankthebricklayer It probably needed a new rear sight. As near as I can tell, this gun has a history of factory rear sights loosening under .357 recoil. I plan on getting a custom rear from Bowen Classic Arms for the GP-100 I have now, which was a tack driver with .38 and started flinging rounds everywhere when I went up to the magnum ammo.

For what it's worth, this particular model's Novak rear will not suffer from that issue.

  • Looks like a fantastic tool for social work!

  • Putting Novaks on a revolver is a great idea!

  • Also, I love the extremely tasteful work they did with the old lawyer-line, sneaking it in there with next to what I think is pretty timeless and classy --RUGER-- on the side of the barrel. Ugh, I really don't need another .357 BUT THAT'S WHAT'S GOING TO HAPPEN.

  • What a handsome piece. Putting Novaks on a revolver is inspired! My GP-100 has sights that I'm afraid are getting bucked around by the recoil of .357. I will be getting this, if there's justice in the world.

  • Very nice!!!

  • I love my Springfield 1911 Loaded but something always draws me to Ruger. Got my first rifle when I was 9, a 10/22. I also have a S&W 686 .357 with a 4" barrel. I think a GP100 will be my next purchase though. It looks like a hell of a wheelgun. I check your website daily for articles. Keep up the great work.

  • Whats the retail on one of those, it looks like it's a nice shooter, I know they will be hard for me to get my hands on up here in Connecticut, but maybe I will get lucky one day.

  • MSRP is $829, actual price will be substantially less.

  • @Gunblastdotcom I just put one on reserve for 715, before tax. Someone who's good friends with their dealer can probably knock it lower.

  • i'm looking for a .357 mag...now i'm going to look in to the gp 100. thanks for making this vid.

  • my first gun purchase was a GP100 back in 1990...loved it...

  • I really like the rubber and wood grip combo.

  • good shoot'n jeff

  • Gotta love GP's.

  • Very, very nice ... thank you.

  • I want that one! Awesome looking gun and great review!

  • Nice ! But Jeff I have a question for you and your brothers. Do either of you have a personal favorite double action revolver? If so, make-model-caliber? I just bought a little North American Arms Pug in .22 Mag that I love and was looking for a great all around double action revolver next for just Sh*ts n'Giggles.

  • I have no favorite, but there are many that I like.

Boge would no doubt chime in here that HIS favorite DA is his 1909-manufacture 44 Special S&W First Model Hand Ejector ("Triple-Lock"): gunblast.com/Boge_TripleLock.htm. Good luck finding one.

    Jeff

  • There truly is no more irritating sound in the world than cicadas going off.

You may have sold this gun simply by proving that cicadas shut up when the hammer goes down!

  • Dang it! Do you know how difficult and expencive it is to get a handgun in Quebec? Stop selling these guns so well.

    Great channel

  • Is Shannon Hayes a relative of yours?

  • No, he is not. He is a friend of my brother Boge.

  • Well Jeff, I saw the announcement of the TALO GP, and I thought 'maybe if I don't think about it, I can forget it exists.' But then YOU had to go and throw up this video showing how downright beautiful this revolver is. HOW COULD YOU??!?!?! My wallet is still recovering from three other Ruger revolver purchases in the last two months.

    I HOPE YOU'RE HAPPY!!!

I know I am, because that is one sexy gun.

  • Jeff, these videos are getting really hard on my pocketbook. You know I'm a sucker for a Ruger wheelgun.

  • NICE!

  • Holy cow that was a nice grouping! Nice shooting jeff. That is one sweet gun. No one makes a gun like ruger. I have a sr1911 on order and can't wait till it gets here

  • I like the sights a lot. Hopefully Ruger will make them a regularly cataloged option.

  • i think Talo is only making 2000 of them so if you want one you better get on it cuz it's going to sale fast.....its a sexy pistol and a must have in the gun volt

  • Now that's a handgun..great vid keepem comeing...

  • Jeff, you're my favorite gun reviewer, Hickok45 is my favorite shooting channel. My idea of a dream video would be you two getting together at his range in Tenn. and spending the day shooting and talking. That would be great video. As always, this was a great review, keep it up!

  • Thank you, Sir. I do not know him, nor where in Tennessee he is located, but I am between the Tennessee and Cumberland rivers in Stewart County, about 70 miles NW of Nashville.

    Jeff

  • love your videos, I have an old gp100 long barrel, its fantastic. Accurate, reliable, great gun.

By the way, epic beard dude! I love the double braid.

  • It's a beauty. I'm just waiting for one to come in stock.

  • Great vid

  • That a beautiful gun

  • Looks like an SP101, really good looking.

  • That is one handsome revolver :O Damn you Jeff you are making me broke puttng all these up cause I usually have to get em :P

  • i love my 4" gp100. i really like those sights too, wonder if they would fit a standard gp100?

  • Not without extensive frame modification.

    jeff

  • I am a revolver guy and I have to say that is one very interesting Ruger. The first interesting Ruger I have seen in a long time.

  • And a lot of folks say .38 special is not a good defensive round. But get a hollow point with +P power and I dare them to let me shoot them with it. lol

    As always, enjoy your videos.

  • Beautiful, and I'm not really a revolver guy.

  • Thats a nice revolver

  • this are great guns

  • I have a GP100 myself but that is just beautiful! The finish, the sights, the grip...if only I can get this in California

  • I've always liked the Ruger GP100 ...and the SP101 as well. Thanks for the review Jeff . Keep up the GREAT work !!! You're one of the best channels on YouTube !

  • Thank you, Sir! Tell your friends!

    jeff

  • Interesting sights. It looks like they're right off a 1911, certainly makes it convenient for replacement if that's the case.

  • 357 mag. one of those bullets where you will rarly need a second fallowup shot and never need a 3rd. asuming you hit your target.

  • i like it, do they make a 6" ?

  • Not with the Clapp, but they do make a 6 inch GP100.

    jeff

  • nice shots

  • Beautiful gun! Thank you.

  • I like that finish!

  • Nice revolver!
