i'm 51 today, i first learned this song when i was 13, since then this one song has keep me close to Jesus when life felt not worth living, there's something about the name of jesus that just give peace to the heart, thank you Jesus.
I have a favorites list and I have at least, if not more, half posted by you. I want to thank you for the time and tell you what an honor it is to watch and hear your videos. Please don't stop. God Bless YOU!!!
ahh gaither music. back in the day. my mum used to get all of their videos and we would sit down together as a family just singing along. She also used to buy the gaither kids videos. the memories.
I noticed when Danny sang the version in 1966, which sounds so beautiful, he sings "Kings and kingdoms (may) all pass away....and later the words were sung "Kings and kingdoms (will) all pass away which sounds more accurate.....Because they all will...... can I download his singing of this song somewhere?
Oh goodness! This is the first song I remember my parents teaching me at the age of three or four. They say I harmonized to it in the car at the age of 5. What a blessed song. Praise that Holy Name! I can still hear my mother and fathers voices in perfect harmony, flowing through the notes of this song. Oh... I love this.
@cdodreamworld he suffered from cancer for many years and it caused him to not be able to sing anymore so he drove the bus. he passed away several years ago
Danny did have a lovely voice but personally I like a baritone or bass. I do have a few tenor voices that are pretty hard to beat though, such as David Phelps and Wes Hampton from the Gaithers. And I still love Bill's voice too which is of course in that lovely lower range. As song writers he and Gloria are outstanding and where would the singers be without the songs to sing.
I am 36 so I only really have know Bill and Gloria Gaither but my parents always told me that Danny was really the one that had the special voice. I have to agree.
one of the most beautiful sound to ever hear i play over and over since i first heard it 6 years ago and i willcontinue to play listen to and sing it forever
Jesus, the mere mention of His name can calm the storm,
heal the broken, raise the dead. At the name of Jesus, I've seen
sin-hardened men melted, derelicts transformed, the lights of hope
put back into the eyes of a hopeless child..
At the name of Jesus, hatred and bitterness turn to love and forgiveness, arguments cease. I've heard a mother softly breathe His name at the bedside of a child delirious from fever, and I've watched that little body grow quiet and the fevered brow cool.
Whenever we need an enrichment of the soul all we have to do is ask Jesus ro renew our spirit. He knows the trials we face daily and He has promised He will never leave us. The ACLU znd like organizations cannot legislate Him out of existence. THANNK GOD.
Very powerful!!! The message made me cry. All this time I thought Martha M.'s version was the original, but this is just beautiful. God Bless The Gaither Family.
I first heard this when I was 12 at a gospel concert. It made a huge impact on me and still remains one of the most beautiful songs ever written.

. When
the last scene of his life flashed before him, he
looked back at the footprints in the sand. He
noticed that many times along the path of his life
there was only one set of footprints.
that it happened at the very lowest and saddest
times in his life. This really bothered him and he
questioned the Lord about it. "Lord, You said that it
was then that I Carried You
