  • I was unaware of Karen till I saw an article in a paper today.Synchronicity struck when bands Mazzy Star&(pre-Mazzy)Opal were named among her fave artists(+Hank Williams,Fairport Convention,Vashti Bunyon).Because in the past mo.I've become(belatedly)completely enamoured of '90s band Mazzy Star&their fine singer Hope Sandoval, now my fave singer ever&I only just discovered her! Where the **** was I in the '90s when Mazzy had hits that missed me?'Fraid Karen's no Hope&her band's no Mazzy tho'

  • I like it :)

  • GREAT SONG VERY SWEET

  • es buena, muyyy buena además que me gustan las colorinas

  • Nice voice, nice song, sh**ty lyrics!

  • @Theunderdogma sh**ty lyrics ? why ?

  • Comment removed

  • @Raquelin0 I apologize if that offended you but I think the world is already sick enough without songs about a twisted dude who stabbed an innocent girl to death under the moonlight. That's a terrible stuff! It could be the same music and stuff with a happy end for a change. I can understand that as an expression of pain but it does not change the fact that it is a damn sad song. Maybe sh**ty was a bad way to put it, but it is my humble opinion.

  • @Theunderdogma It's a metaphore. It isn't meant to be taken as a literal story. It's of her life. It's why the album is titled the ghost who walks. It's about her.

  • @tycer18 I appreciated your explanation. I can understand some metaphore, but I still find it depressive. I guess 70's was awesomwe, 80's and 90's kind of...2000 and after...I feel sorry for my generation, standing between depressive, techno or totally obvious pop. I understand the world is different, but hey "Smoke on the water" is one example - among thousands - that old bands could get a bad situation and do something fantastic. Today, 90% of the lyrics rhyme with "itch", and it sells.

  • @Theunderdogma Yeah I agree with some of that. For instance how you say lots of stuff today is straight pop or straight techno, but there are still some good bands/musicians out there. They're just hard to find. Plus theres always been this, "10 years of good music, stagnation, then more good music". Great music mid to late 60's all over the place, 70's were good, but it was just a select few if you think about how long ten years is. In general, there will be great music again in large

  • @Theunderdogma quantities. For now, you just have to search a bit harder. Find independently owned record stores and stuff.

  • I love her! shes amazing

  • So Jack

  • @SkankawhorusRex I agree, definetly looks like something Jack had directed

  • This is like one of the best songs ever! It's pretty much my theme song :-)

  • She's beautiful, sure, but the music? It's not very good. Her voice is flat and kinda dead.

  • @erikforburger1 I once heard the voice of one of my favorite musicians described as "pleasantly bland", and the phrase really struck me. I think she sort of has the same thing going on; her voice isn't distractingly unique and therefore allows the song to come through. Since this is a good song, that is a good thing. And yes, she is gorgeous.

  • omg the way she takes the guitarr, I think I am in love

  • im liking that guitar.

  • I love the way she dances and sways with her guitar.

  • I love this song! It is the best one on the album, and there are a lot of good songs on that album.

By the way, does the synth part remind anyone else of The Doors "Riders On The Storm"?

  • @ourlaub

  • @ourlaub

That's awesome. I played this album for a good friend of mine 3 days ago. He really liked this song and made a comparison to The Doors.

  • If you like, this dark country style, see also the Voltaire's new album, "Hate Lives in a Small Town"

  • I think either Jack or Karen would make amazing characters in a Tim Burton movie. Maybe even make me want see one again after the disappointment of Alice in Wonderland

  • I love you Karen! Always were My fav. supermodel and Im super picky as a model too, but now you truly have won my dark lil heart as I am a Gothic chick too. Us redheads must stick together, lol xoxo

  • I love the song, but I thought the video could have been so much better!!!! Especially with a haunting song like this one

  • I like the music but playing the guitar with a long dress kinda looks really ridiculous.

  • What a depressive shit! The music is cool though, just cut the lyrics.

  • @Theunderdogma songs aren't always happy man

  • @avsbmn7 True man! I guess everyone has the right to express themselves. I just have a hard time thinking that people leave their houses, buy a ticket and go to a show to watch something so down, it is kind of funny they do, though.

  • @Undercolorofficial no not exactly beacuse well the bass player is in a dress and well the drummers Marek fellis so yah no its Olivia Jean on bass (im not trying to be rude)

  • This is better than the album version o_O............. These guys are just amazing.

    True Blood <3!

  • halloween was created for this music

  • omfg this song is incredible a song that finally combines country with alt rock, its genius

  • dark! makes me think of kill bill or pulp fiction etc ,brilliant

  • It's alright.... i expected much more from the hype given. The jazz organ is too much, and if it was true alt country. I'd be at my knees. Too sexy, not dark enough.

  • love the whole sound, and the dress she's wearing is EPIC.

  • The organ is super annoying!!!

    I prefer piano

  • рыжая бестия Ж)

  • Nick Caveish Wild rose song, with elements of The Doors, want better, me nope.

    Excellent work.

  • I know you love the guitar but that organ is........ simply captivating. You can't escape it.

  • this song restored my faith in music

  • at first i was like aww this song is so good, then you listen to the words then your like omg he killed her! i was shocked, but her voice is amazing!

  • stunning.great tune sounds like the doors

  • I'M IN LOVE WITH HER AND JACK!!!

  • Heard her on Letterman and I relistened to it 5 freakin times. Amazing song. Love the style of it.

  • love it lover her hi jess

  • Karen Elson is definitely my favorite supermodel...and to know how amazing she is as a musician just makes her that much more amazing. Props to Jack White for helping this come out of her!!!! Absolutely stunning.

  • the dress she is wearing is WONDERFUL :O

  • Song Of The Day.

  • just heard this on letterman last night,i had no idea who she was and i liked it.now that i know...i have my reservations

  • Country goth... LOVE LOVE LOVE!!!

  • lovely song,,, make you feel comfortable.

  • I can't describe how much I love her music, just amazing!!!

I hope that she will get famous (:

  • my my..this was a tasty piece of musical exhibition

  • This is actually good. Didn't think I'd like it but it's pretty good!

  • To the question about the guitar, Gibson Model O..Early 1900's.. A perfectly designed work of art..

  • @theiconicimage David Letterman asked her about the guitar. She said 1912.

  • what kind of guitar is that?

  • @ajmitch95

    1908 Gibson

  • 1908 Gibson

  • Pretty standard music. All dressed up to look good.

  • Gosh, she's pretty.

  • I can not stop playing this song. Mesmerized! Picking up the Doors a bit...

  • love ........

  • It's amazing, this song, video, lyrics, this beautiful woman and her vioce.

  • I'm hooked, I can't wait to see her grow more as a musician, still feels a wee bit contrived in someways. But what isn't? I also love the thought of dark country. Great feeling over all.

  • @BRIisFINEart Just a WEE bit. Like in mount everest.

  • Amazing. I love her dress.

  • karen elson still married with jack white right?

  • @marialelee OMG that's why he fauns over her.

  • @qwerty009871 definitely. especially with those organ solos.

  • sweet organ run! snap!
