2.5 on a ZZ reed? That is soft. Plus they're softer than most other reeds. But whatever works for you is what you should use. I remember I used to play on alto with a 3 1/2, but after playin on tenor for a while all I could use on alto was a 3...but also sounded much better.

So whatever sounds best is what you should use (and everyone in this group sounded really good, so there ya go)

There are some low B's in this arrangement I have, so I would have done octave jumps with a soprano sax too. This arrangement was written specifically for the alto sax's range and uses a low B all the way to a high F. Thanks for watching!
