  • bravissimo!!

  • im guessing your fan of wong kar wai works but why isnt you didnt put Chungking Express in your list? that score alone gave me chills more than the actual film itself. just wondering.

  • hii! I'd like to know the exactly track's name of it's all about love, I can't find it anywhere! thnx

  • @Ayeka47 it's in the desciption ;) Zbigniew Preisner - Fields Of Death.

  • @the2046 oops sorry, anyway thank you!

  • i think its quite possible im in love with your taste in movies/soundtracks; oldboy's 'the last waltz' is gorgeous and very along these lines...

  • I'm so happy, like really happy, that I'm not the only one who loves Diving Bell & the Butterfly soundtrack.

  • BEST CHOICE!!!:)

  • you have good taste XD believe me, I have seen the others compilations of best osts in youtube and they have the same things. Your compilation has original music, and genious movies

  • You should include the soundtrack from the movie called Book of Eli. Great music

  • It's not that these songs aren't beautiful because they are, but none or 1 or 2 only will be remembered among the list. For instance, Star Wars, Indiana Jones, Mission Impossible, James Bond, these are immortal themes and that's what I qualify 'Top'.

  • wonderful... and you have shigeru san in your list... you know if you ever get around to listening shigeru Umebayashi, his soundtrack for onmyoji is worth a look...

  • no williams? i'm a dissapointed, but good choice with morricone ... allthoug his "mission" is missing and amelie should be in it

  • This really wasn't a bad list at all. I could hear whoever made the list has a taste in music. Although I was waiting for Eric Serra from the movie Léon, Hable con Ella and music from the movie Ame Agaru.

  • ennio morricone= genius

and of course wkw film's musics are top notch...

my list is similar to yours

  • Love your choices, Thomas Newmann, Morricone, Vangelis, Santaolla, my favorites. I appreciate being exposed to new composers/producers.

  • you've got no taste...

  • great choice!

  • thomas newman <3 <3 <3

sounds a bit like the horsewhisperer

    (for me...best soundtrack)

  • thats quite of a great list of movies you got here and of all the "best" score choices they have here posted by many users none of them got my taste.

those are w/c by the way, Cinema Paradiso & In the mood for love. and its good to know that the last 2 movies were all wong kar wai, i adore all the works of wong kar wai. his(WKW) Chungking Express has a wonderful score too.

  • This is a great list. My favorite is Preisler.

  • Wow Great Taste in Music and movies! all of your choices are my favorites! Preisner+ Kieslowski amazingly create masterpieces together!!

  • nice to see a different list. that reminds me i need to do a new one soon.

  • i go for Once Upon a Time in the West by ennio moricone as well :D

  • any of the morricone songs should be in the top 3. probably my favorite cinema paradiso, with umebayashi`s yumeji`s theme and polonnaise. great list!

  • Preisner's music (especially Veronique) should be easily top 3

  • blade runner just amazing

  • Whwre I can download zbigniew preisner fields of deat ( I don't have Dc++)

  • where

  • great list.Babel and American Beauty are in my top 10 list.

    I'd add these :

death is the road to awe (from Fountain)

Andre Rieu (Love Theme From Romeo & Juliet)

The heart asks pleasure first-Michael Nyman(from Piano)

    crossing bridge (from blood diamond)

tango (from scent of a woman)

    godfather theme

    :)

  • Great list, I watched le mepris for the 1st time last week and was fascinated with the music. Some I would also include are:

Never ending Story, The Mission, Schindler's list

  • Nice list, but a lot of the scores don't actually originally belong to the films. Like In the Mood For Love theme belongs to the Japanese film Yumeji by Seijun Suzuki. Same goes for most music in Babel, which wasn't composed for the film at all. The most beautiful theme there is composed by Sakamoto.

  • Too bad no one seems to put Waltz with Bashir in these kinds of lists. But oh well, I'm glad you put Le Mépris in it.

  • This list was created before Waltz with Bashir was widely released :)

  • Oh, no problem then.

So you agree with me that its soundtrack is absolutely phenomenal?

  • @LightStijn Le Mépris, yes!

  • i think that on 7:40 there is an error, the soundtrack is from Platoon

  • it's from both movies, actually, they even played the thing on kennedy's funeral

  • muy buena elección, has rescatado peliculas que había olvidado

  • Can you imagine that? we have the smae taste! motorcycle diaries are my favorite actually...(the best for me is Appertura)

  • 2046 Shigeru Umebayashi - Polonais reminds me so much of Eric Serra's Leon OST.

  • CINEMA PARADISO-ENNIO MORRICONE

  • The other ones on my list: Thin Red Line/ Last Samurai -Zimmer Mockingbird - Bernstein Russia House & Chinatown Goldsmith The Getaway Q Jones Crouching Tiger --- Tan Dun Two for the Road --- Mancini Horse Whisperer ----- T. Newman The Natural ---- R. Newman 4 Weddings ---- R.R. Bennett Midnight Express G. Moroder
  • Mine: Ghost & Mrs. Muir/ Fahrenheit -- Herrmann Resurrection / Only the Lonely M. Jarre Schindler, Tourist, Stepmom, Deer Hunter J. Williams Once Upon A Time West -- Moriccone Ben Hur -- Rosza Gloria & Rocky - Conti Bagger Vance - R. Portman No Mercy ----- A. Silvestri America, America ---Hadzidakis Spartacus - A North Will post the rest on another comment because I exceeded the limit
  • exeis gousto megale!

  • i love the diving bell & the diary soundtrack!

this should be best independt/forgien soundtracks

  • america's beuatuy's song is the same song of cinderella man

  • Shigeru Umebayashi the best!

  • in the mood of love is almost the same as the "les choristes"

  • my best movie-soundtracks: 1. Apollo 13- James Horner 2. Lord of the Rings- Howard Shore 3. Pearl Harbor- Hans Zimmer 4. Pirates of the Caribien- Hans Zimmer 5. The Da Vinci Code- Hans Zimmer 6. a beautiful mind- Hans Zimmer 7. Titanic- James Horner 8. The Pianist - Frederic Chopin, Wladislaw Szpilman... 9. Harry Potter and the cammer of secret - John Williams hmmm i don't speak really good english.. like sorry...xD
  • The song from Eternity and a Day is AMAZING! Unfortunately this is all I can find of it on youtube so far... :(

Anybody know where I can find the rest of that piece online?

  • you can search for ''eternity theme'' or if you want it only on piano search for ''by the sea''eleni karaindrou.

  • Soundtracks for Karolina Jach

  • Ennio Morricone....First place!!!!!!!

  • Morricone-Vangelis-Preisner! The perfect trio!

    Nice job the2046!

  • "Thème de Camille" is the most beautiful score I've ever heard.

  • Good choice with the Ennio music. He NEVER won a best original score Oscar! My personal choice for #1 would be "The Triple Duel" from The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly by Ennio, largely because of how well it works with Sergio Leone's direction. True genius.

  • Is a perfect list but also I'd like to recommend too The Red Violin soundtrack

  • summer 78 - good bye lenin is also good

  • totally my taste too. thx! Gracias!

  • beautiful...

  • 'RECONSTRUCTION' soundtrack is not an original one. It is actually 'Adagio for Strings' by Samuel Barber. It was used in other movies like David Lynch's 'The Elephant Man' and Rodley Scott's 'Platoon'. It was voted one of the saddest musics in the world.

  • perfect.

  • Very well done, one of the best lists I've read here.

  • very very nice. i love it! its nice to know that people still have good taste in this world

  • Ludovico Einaudi's work on the film This is England is fabulous

as well as the soundtrack to Goodbye Lenin, by Yann Tiersen

  • Morricone's soundtracks are awesome. Thank you very much.

  • I'd also say Morricone stands out.

  • While we do have contrasting tastes in soundtracks, there is no denying that the selections you chose are absolutely beautiful. If I may be so bold as to suggest a soundtrack to you, I would recommend you listen to Finding Neverland's soundtrack. It seems like it would be right up your alley.

  • Certainly interesting choices. Not the usual "Theme of Godfather" and stuff. Well done.

  • thank you!

  • @the2046 i watched your video and i felt like someone had read my mind.thank you for the beautifull music you shared with us.especially the yumeji 's theme and the polonais make me cry eveytime.

  • well done

    fit with my teste too
