@Disturbing696 unless you keep your banshee 99% unmodified, the cheapest / easiest way to keep things like that from happening (in my experience) is to find a solid front : rear sprocket ratio that fits your riding style. and maybe consider shaving the flywheel down for less stress on the internals. this will greatly depend on what kind of riding you do.. she'll feel like a new machine, for under $300 if you DIY. pretty hard to beat
@joshg172006 wow.... that was really dumb! a banshee 350 twin does not have 350cc's per cylinder but rather 175cc's per cylinder. totaling an obvious 350cc! its the simple fact that the two strokes have to do half as many RPM's for one complete intake-exhaust cycle, therefor it can safely turn out twice the rpms it would if it were 4-stroke and that means it can "almost" double the power of the 350 motor, its not however a 700cc machine
The only competition for the YAMAHAS is the YAMAHAS so if your a Yamaha fan quit dissin the other Yamaha guys dosent matter if its a 700 or 450 or banshee dis on the the other three makers that havent got a clue. Yamaha started the sport quad market and they have ruled it since the begining....there now the honda kawi and suzuki guys can respond to something they cant argue or beat!

Honda also made the 81 atc250r.. aka the industry's first high-performance atv. the first 4wheeled ATV was the 83'Suzuki LT125.. the first high-performance 4wheeled ATV was ALSO made by suzuki aka the legendary 85'quadracer250r. but its all trivial BS. jus dont downtalk one of the best bikes in the industry man :)

@Jagethemage i like most yamahas 2strokes, but thr 4strokes dont stay lubed well, my bro is all aboat yamaha, hes had a bigbear,warrior,raptor660,grizzly,raptor700,now a yfz..the bigbear wore a cam out,warrior wore a rocker arm and pin,raptor660 we reringed and cam looked shity from lack of lube,raptor700 had no issues but only had about a month,yfz had a crank bearing failure, there lubercation systems need improvement.. im a suzuki fan myself, ltr n zilla my favs, zilla-straights, ltr-track

@fastrak5150 u can get 60hp out of a 87 lt500 with a halls pipe runnin alil lean, stock banshee, 35hp, u gain alot with banshees too, but the guy i replied to said his STOCK banshee, the halls pipe and dr-q pipe for the zilla are amazing pipes! , u have to custom order them thr not listed, most zilla pipes fall off at like 6000 rpms, the dr-q pipe has amuch higher rev range with over rev making highest hp around 8000 and holdin through 8500
if you want to go reallllly fast just take off 20 teeth on your rear sproket. these is no doubt in hell that bikes are faster. period. just different ridding prefferences. i ride bmx and do not trust 2 wheels going faster then 30km an hour. lol
dirt bikes pose a bit of a problem on ice, snow, mud, and especially muddy-icy slanted trails. thats why we ride quads. You wanna go fast? Change the sprokets ratio, it'll scare you.
ur dumb the raptor started ahed then the banshee a\then the 450 the yfz is the best quad there for racin like i do :) that bike halls there faster than banshees stock vs. stock no parts and if they where both pimped the 450 would win again
but after about 30 i will take each one of those starting with the banchee, there is no replacement for displacement, and for all you 2 strokers out there, MAICO 700 2stroke... enjoy
, plenty of torque to lug out of any gear, however, the yfz did take the raptor and the banchee "with 3k in the motor" with very little trouble, i got the holeshot everytime and both the raptor and banchee had much lighter riders on them but apparently no riding experiance... now i do own a 91 DR650 that is lightly caressed by mechanical hands and on hardpack ill loose the holeshof everytime too all them quads...
after reading through many comments it seems to me that many of you either love or hate 2 strokes or 4 strokes... i do not own any of thies quads but i have ridden them all in glamis up oldsmobile, i was 300lbs at the time and by far the most capible quad for my lack of experiance "first time on a quad, first time in sand" was the raptor

I own a 04 660 stock and a 99 banshee 2 rebuilds in 11 yrs. fattys, shaved head, jetted, air box. I love them both, but the banshee power band rules, much more of a thrill to ride. When you know how to tune them they are very dependable. I have 3 years on my last rebuild. To many people who own them haven't got a clue on how to tune them and end up making banshees look like shit. Also rider skill is about 70% on any of the open class bikes. Don't be haters we all love the sport.

I was just at the sand lake dunes in oregon a couple weeks ago and I never got the chance to race anyone with a YFZ450 but I was leaving 700R's in the dust the whole weekend. It's just kind of hard to get away with it down there because there's a new "no racing" policy :(
Well if you break it in properly in the first place you only have to replace the top end about every other year or so. The bottom end will last even longer. And a full top end kit with pistons, bearings, and gaskets for a Banshee is only about 200 bucks.

@fastrak5150 u can get 60hp out of a 87 lt500 with a halls pipe runnin alil lean, stock banshee, 35hp, u gain alot with banshees too, but the guy i replied to said his STOCK banshee, the halls pipe and dr-q pipe for the zilla are amazing pipes! , u have to custom order them thr not listed, most zilla pipes fall off at like 6000 rpms, the dr-q pipe has amuch higher rev range with over rev making highest hp around 8000 and holdin through 8500

if you want to go reallllly fast just take off 20 teeth on your rear sproket. these is no doubt in hell that bikes are faster. period. just different ridding prefferences. i ride bmx and do not trust 2 wheels going faster then 30km an hour. lol

dirt bikes pose a bit of a problem on ice, snow, mud, and especially muddy-icy slanted trails. thats why we ride quads. You wanna go fast? Change the sprokets ratio, it'll scare you.

, plenty of torque to lug out of any gear, however, the yfz did take the raptor and the banchee "with 3k in the motor" with very little trouble, i got the holeshot everytime and both the raptor and banchee had much lighter riders on them but apparently no riding experiance... now i do own a 91 DR650 that is lightly caressed by mechanical hands and on hardpack ill loose the holeshof everytime too all them quads...

after reading through many comments it seems to me that many of you either love or hate 2 strokes or 4 strokes... i do not own any of thies quads but i have ridden them all in glamis up oldsmobile, i was 300lbs at the time and by far the most capible quad for my lack of experiance "first time on a quad, first time in sand" was the raptor

I own a 04 660 stock and a 99 banshee 2 rebuilds in 11 yrs. fattys, shaved head, jetted, air box. I love them both, but the banshee power band rules, much more of a thrill to ride. When you know how to tune them they are very dependable. I have 3 years on my last rebuild. To many people who own them haven't got a clue on how to tune them and end up making banshees look like shit. Also rider skill is about 70% on any of the open class bikes. Don't be haters we all love the sport.

I was just at the sand lake dunes in oregon a couple weeks ago and I never got the chance to race anyone with a YFZ450 but I was leaving 700R's in the dust the whole weekend. It's just kind of hard to get away with it down there because there's a new "no racing" policy :(

Well if you break it in properly in the first place you only have to replace the top end about every other year or so. The bottom end will last even longer. And a full top end kit with pistons, bearings, and gaskets for a Banshee is only about 200 bucks.
