Sounded like a pinball at the beginning to me! Electromechanical sequencer!, like the old good days! Great! I really think of any way to generate sound and mellody is valid. Have you ever considered using photodiodes on a disc of paper drawings? Maybe some devices controlled by the amplified signal and others simply by shooting at some pre def level.
