@L3gendaric what ive been told is backwards compatibilty for PCI e slots but he could be wrong as for the cpu if you watch as he moves across the box it has a phenom sticker
@thebeetalls I just found some cables that came with my old ASUS board, also orange, and Gygabates... well... baby blue. I buy black ones with metal latches for looks, and use anything if the build is cheap or ...hmmmm... no window?
@Pingu123489 First, there IS a battery on it, just like on ANY OTHER board. Unless it fell out somehow, but then I'm not sure if the PC would boot. Second - this board got "Clear CMOS" button in the I/O area in the back. 6:22
@Pingu123489 Seriously? Its that little metal round button-like metal substance, jammed between the blue PCI-E slots (the video card slots). Maybe you don't see it because you got SLI going?
how is my potential build? This board, Phenom 1100T. V8 cpu cooler. 16gb G.Skill Ripjaws. WD 2tb hdd, dual XFX HD 6950's 2gb each in crossfire and OCZ 850W psu in antec 1200.
@kubifan If you trust a stranger's choice...m-m-m. I'd go with 6870. That's MSI Twin Frozr has good cooling, just like a 3rd party air solution, good for a moderate OC. Don't forget that in this case, like Twin Frozr, that thing doesn't blow the hot air out of the case and it gets recycled. Make sure you have plenty of cool air intake for the card (front, bottom or side fan) and some decent blowout fan(s) (back, top). Of course there are sites that just do spec comparison.
Hi I like to know Asrock 870 Extreme 3 is interfering the front audio header when install any GPU card those have double size " like HD 6850, HD 6950? I think i will interfering when you connect the case audio pin than the GPU card sits right on it. Correct me if i am wrong.
@Ibinhluan Manufacturer usually addresses problems like these in pre-produciton. And since no one complains about this as a problem, or I've not seen this problem in the reviews this isn't an issue, so you can sleep sound tonight. If anything - when you connect the front HD audio pin, just bend the cable and rout it out of the way, so the card will get on the top of that. I've had motherboards where there was SATA port under the VGA, and I still survived :)
First, the long blond haired evil guy? Bruce willis chokes him with some chains, then the police officer shoots him? Anyway great unboxing, Going to get my own in a couple weeks!
i got this board, it performs well. has tons of features, pretty good looking and i paid 73€ for this! great value! u shouldnt expect an oc-wonder, but it does good. some time ago asrock wasnt building such quality as with their extreme3/4 series now! theyre worth it
Thanks. I have no idea really about the performance, since the client hasn't called me since the system with that board was sold...but for that reason I imagine all is smooth with the hardware :) I was really pleased to find out about the fact that ASRock not just a cheap ASUS offspring. Hope the quality and the pricing stay around as it is now.
I can't tell you much about the performance, I've had it for 2 days, put it into a new PC - next day Win 7 install and the client picked it up. Haven't called back yet so I imagine he is neglecting his family and playing L4D 2 right about now. I usually buy Intel boards for my own rigs and never deal with anything less then 150$ worth. This one at 90$ is really nice, has TONS of features, perfect for OC'ing, and if you're curious about options maybe you can download BIOS guide from ASRock site.
I gave all the boxes and the papers and everything that came with the parts back to client so he can RMA stuff "in case shit happens", so I can't tell you much about the stuff I don't personally use for some time. So downloading materials might be your best bet, but so far I have to say that at stock CPU speed (3.4 Ghz) with a stock cooler and some cheapo case fans, slight RAM OC AND small NB/SB coolers that mobo had good temps. Catch a good deal or combo on newegg, I did :)
is the audiocard good for gaming? alc 892 integrated on the MB.
