I agree with what Cenk said about the moral insecurity that leads to making moral laws. This is why the government should have no place in passing moral laws, such as who is allowed to get married or not. Everyone needs to think for themselves. The only laws the government should pass are those that protect a person's well being and civil rights.

What averagebodybuilder was saying is that leaders should not be concerned with social reform, especially if they don't have their own personal moral issues sorted out (as many obviously don't). Stoning people to death is wrong.
Killing people (unless you are REALLY short of food) is wrong. There are ALWAYS other ways to deal with people - prison etc.
Denying people the right to choose for themselves what to do in their private lives is wrong because it grants some people free will and denys free will to others.

In this way, his point of view isn't really ignorant because it is true and it is true that in the U.S, while it isn't the most liberal country, it is way more open-minded (no legislature against swapping, as an example). Iran is a brutal theocracy, and the fact that the couples could face execution for a life-style choice makes jokes a la "oh, I never knew there were kinky Iranians" (what were you thinking? that Iranians are some different species??) completely inappropriate.

Nah I think it's more like when I heard of people spraypainting Slayers logo on buildings in Iran. Of course there are Iranians who'll like Slayer, but it doesn't seem likely that Slayer has a fanbase in Iran, and if there are fans, I'd think they hid it as well as possible.
I mean, I'd probably keep all my sexual "deviances" hidden if I had to live in Iran. Either I'd protest for freedom and risk death, or I'd hide that shit as well as possible.

I simply provided a piece of info, many ppl have this wishy washy image of the middle east. I met some educated ppl who think Arabs speak Indian & Iranians speak Arabic.
If clearing their confusion makes me a racist in your eyes.. then I am a racist.
And yes, were all Homo sapiens.

Indian is not a language, it's a nationality. Hindi (along with hundreds of other languages and dialects) is spoken in India
