Finish the game 4 times to get the 4 different endings. Now play the game again using the same game save slot and pick Eileen's nurse uniform. Finish the game and hold Triangle and Circle before the ending to get the UFO ending.

@dreadeddan93 SH4 doesn't have a canon ending and its really up to the player's preference. Personally, I view this one as the canon ending. Walter is finally dead and the experience brought both Henry and Eileen together, both who seemed to have been sorta loners before the game.

Funnily enough, the games with the confirmed canon endings (0rigins, SH3 and arguably SH1) are all based off the Good Endings. SH5's Best ending is the only one that works and SH2's novel used the In Water Ending.

@viniesonic I suggest, if you cannot afford to find the games to play yourself, trying to watch some "Let's play" of it? I can suggest Agentjr's lets play series of Silent hill 1-4. Just add /user/agentjr to the end of youtube's homepage address and you'll find yourself on their profile. You can find their lets plays fairly easily. :D I just finished the series myself and was lead here to see the "Best ending" since it was the only one they weren't able to get.

Walter the demon child escaped the cult and went back to his mothers apartment.

Walters the demon childs mother would not take Walter the demon child back in. So Walter the demon child died and started haunting the place. Hence the name of the song, 'Room of angel'.

You have to completley de-posses your room and keep eileen's sanity high by not leaving her alone too much or accidentally hitting her during battle. (or purposefully hitting her, whatever you chose.) The worse you treat her, the faster she walks towards the blades.

I am not criticizing it, but having a kid dying in a game or film is very rare, and in some games, they even take out any factor related to kids, so that they wouldnt be condemned. (the GTA series, ,manhunt series, and many more which were notorious with killing)

gaming companies usually take some heat if they have contents in which it hurts or kill a child, but in this one, it seems that it is ok, it is not showing any content in child abuse.

Not to reveal too much of the plot, but sadly, that's actually a very common theme of Silent Hill 5 - especially once you learn why it's all happening, and the true nature of the game's boss fights. :-(

Even though I took care of Eileen, she still appeared all bloody and bruised before the final fight and walked quickly into the machine. Did you not have the same glitch I did, or did you maybe save the silver bullet for Walter?

Well, to get the best ending (iirc), is to, not only keep Eileen safe, but to also place holy candles in your apartment where the spirits are coming from.... I did save the silver bullets and carried the doll that walter gives you (that helps apparently).

And no glitch from my end, except that cheat/bug, where, if you place a holy candle near Eileen, she starts healing... I did this before fighting Walter.

Thanks so much! I had heard the doll is worth an extra haunting in the apartment, so I avoided picking that up to save medallions and candles. I also did heal Eileen before the fight, but for some reason she still appeared all bloody.

I noticed you said silver 'bullets' in your post...I only know of one in the game, is there more than one?

Yes, the doll posseses your apartment a bit more than if you don't take it, but, it makes it easier to kill walter. Also, I don't remeber the doll actually doing any harm or making it hard to cure Eileen. i will say, however, that thanks to the doll and not having enough candles to clear the hauntings in the apartment, it made me get the "mother" ending (that's the good ending, not the best).

I got really into reading all the silent hill stuff on wikia last night and basically all the doll does is hurt you if the doll is in the item box. Ending wise it didnt say.

Indeed, if you put the doll in the chest (or item box), some rotting like babies appear on the wall, and of course, hurt you. It doesn't change the ending, but I'm pretty sure it made killing Walter easier.

It incredibly hard to have Henry get a good ending if you dont take care of Eileen in the game, meaning she doesnt get attacked and you try not tp leave her in the other worlds to long while your chillen in Henrys apartment (shes vulnerable). if you do you wont see as many or any of those weird black briuse things move on her body. so when the final battle comes, shes still in control of herself mostly and will take a long time to walk into the death trap thing.

I agree, but me and a friend have been discussing this issue, and we both have learned we have the same problem - even if we look after Eileen, and she takes minimal damage throughout the game, for some reason right before the final boss fight, Eileen is more battered and bruised and shows that she's taken more damage even if she didn't look like that before. And this has prevented us both from getting the best ending in the game. It's frustrating, because we think it may be a glitch.

Ohhh, but besides combat damgage what about when you have Henry go back to his apartmen to see whats new, get a item outta his chest, etc? Do you stay there for a while, or do you go in and out real quickly, cause the more time you spend in his room your leaving her in the Otherworlds unprotected. cause that counts. ...it could be a glitch.

I've been trying to be really careful about that, I don't have Henry stay any longer than the time needed for him to clean up any hauntings with the holy items, and I try to get back to Eileen quickly. I did have problems with her straying into the areas with the haunted wheelchairs and getting so tangled up she just keeps taking damage, but I heard somewhere that if you keep her unequipped, Eileen won't try and help and so will be safer. But thanks, I'll try again soon. :-)

the only good way to avoid eileen from getting hurt is stucking her on an empty room, i made the mistake of leaving her in the open too much and also neglected some hauntings even though there were only 2 left, despite my efforts i got the worse ending

I found that if you play the game on easy mode, you can still beat the game and get any of the other 3 endings, even if you have one hauinting left in your apartment. I guess that easy mode gives you a "grace" of one haunting. :-)

I found that out by accident - I had just completely exhausted my supply of candles and medallions by then, and couldn't clean it up. :D

Eileen's hurts have nothing to do with the endings, all that matters are the hautings, and eillen live or die at the end. its like

haunt 80%+, eilleen alive = 1st ending (better)

haunt 80%-, eillen alive = 2nd ending

haunt 80%+, eileen dead = 3rd ending

haunt 80%-. eileen dead = 4th ending
