Hands down the best wooden roller coaster in the world. I actually thought while riding it, "is it safe for a wooden roller coaster to go this fast". The best part is that because everyone was riding all the water rides on the other side of the park, I only had a 5 minute wait. Amazing!!!!!!!

no upside down parts =) it's really intense and fast though haha! There are a couple 90 degree banked turns though that make you feel like you're about to go upside down! But I agree with cometcoastin this is by far one of the best woodies out there!
Excellent Coaster! I have ridden over 300 coasters and this is currently the best wooden coaster running in the country. Extreme airtime and change in directions. Out of your seat more than you are in it.

It doesn't need to be slowed down at all, this ride is great for the speed and aggressive ride it gives. And small people can ride, my sister was only 8 when she rode, and she was only 49" at the time.

The Voyage has 24.2 seconds of airtime. I have rode this masterpiece on several events through ACE (American Coaster Enthusiasts). We have named this the top wooden coaster of 2007. If you can make it to southern Indiana, it will be worth the trip.
What you can't see, and what makes this ride so good, is that in the long period its in a tunnel towards the end, it's a triple dip. It goes into the tunnel as a drop, goes a little more, drops, and you think its over, but then there is one more drop waiting before it exits the tunnel :p
Yes it's filled with airtime. Since the last time I visited the park the brakes right before the really long tunnel have started slowing the train down more, but reports indicate it doesn't take too much away from the last portion of the ride. I actually got bruises from the airtime (I rode it 36 times in a row though). It's a Very good roller coaster

It's been voted the Number 1 Wooden Coaster in the World for four years in a row now; broke the world's record for airtime length, something like 26 total seconds, not all consecutive seconds, of course :)

They didn't add them, but the brakes during the mid course break run are activated. From what I've heard, the only thing it does to the ride is take away a little air from the triple down that's in the long tunnel.
The midcourse was on pretty hard when I rode it 2 weeks ago. It did kind of kill the second half for me.... no airtime on the tripple down or the 2 hills after... and the station left to right hill was kind of weak. It also hit the brakes slower than I would have liked. Still a great ride though... #3 woo.
oh my goodness i have got to plan a road trip and ride this coaster...how long is it and does it really go as fast as this video....man it looked to be going almost 70mph and last about 5mins....lol...and the turns looked like you was on your side not tilted but straight sideways....wow....
The ride is 6442'(3rd longest after Beast and Son of Beast at King's Island), it reaches 67.4 mph, and there are 3 90 degree turns (completely sideways). This video was taken opening year and the mid-course break run (the section of track before the really long tunnel)didn't really brake the train. It slows the train down now, but it still keeps the insane speed through that last part. I was able to get 40 rides on it in one day (36 were in a row). Plan to go May, lines will be short!
when i went it was so hot that everybody went to the water park so me and my cousin went to the the voyage and there was no line!! i rode it 16 times that day
Voyage is a badass ride. Two major drops, very quick for a wooden coaster, lots of cool turns, tunnels. Voyage, Boss in STL, and Mean Streak at Cedar Point are the 3 best wooden coasters I've been on.
I threw my hands up at the very top the only time i put them down is when u come back up after the first and second drops u fly outta ur seat and ur stomach drops sooooooooo bad. Its an awesome ride. I was right in the middle.
This looks fun, no doubt, but El Toro is amazing. If you think all it does is the Steep Drop? Think again. It's got the Over-banked turns which this thing don't have the S-Bend which this thing doesn't, it looks like your head is going to get chopped off every two seconds etc. Just because El Toro only broke that record doesn't mean that's the only thing it's good for.
I went to Mt. Olympus when i was like 6... I loved it!!!... And as you people can tell... YES! I do go to alot of theme parks... but Holiday World like my second home... since i live like 30 mins away.... so yeah XD

If u think El Toro is better than this coaster, I have $2,000,000 I'd like 2 give u right now, there is no possible way El Toro can be better than The Voyage all El Toro has is the steepest drop on a wooden coaster, after that it's pretty much like any other coaster u can go on2.
and from what i've heard where the people had the accident they were absolutely nowhere near the loop when they felt discomfort and the reason they took the loop out was because they wanted to get lgihter trains for it.
Actually... It was because therains must gain alot of speed for the loop... and since the faster it goes the jerkier it is... sooo they needed to lowit down

NO NO... Ride it on 4rth of July... Last ride of the night... All the lights were out... and the fireworks were going off... OMG i had sooo much fun :)

If u think El Toro is better than this coaster, I have $2,000,000 I'd like 2 give u right now, there is no possible way El Toro can be better than The Voyage all El Toro has is the steepest drop on a wooden coaster, after that it's pretty much like any other coaster u can go on2.

and from what i've heard where the people had the accident they were absolutely nowhere near the loop when they felt discomfort and the reason they took the loop out was because they wanted to get lgihter trains for it.

Actually... It was because therains must gain alot of speed for the loop... and since the faster it goes the jerkier it is... sooo they needed to lowit down

Both of you are right. The train needed to gain a bunch of speed and the way they kept it up was by using heavier trains lol.
