Yea grizzlies dont normal hunt bison unless its a huge grizzly vs a not fully grown bison. Bison are too big and strong. Now a bear like a kodiak could definatly bring bison down. Kodiaks are MUCH bigger then grizzlies but they arnt in yellowstone at all.
This is obviously summer time with plenty of food around for all animals. Bears are not obligate carnivores---meaning they don't have to eat meat exclusively---and largely subsist on berries, nuts and grasses. Had this been late fall just before hibernation season the bear would most certainly have attacked this meat source. At that time they become desperate to fatten up for winter and will eat all they can, with meat being a priority.

Bison is not a easy target .. Bison are very very dangerous . That bear want no chance of injury . They are survivalist first
