With Graham Poll as ref,man u/fa were always going to win.Nothing to do with the quality of their play which is vastly over hyped, most of their performances are mediocre and scratchy and winning 1-0 with a flukey goal via a bad referee decision.Amen.
@zzzaaa0990 Don't think so mate, started supporting United in 1986, they hadn't won the league in almost 20 years! If I was gloryhunting I would have started supporting Liverpool or Everton, the two most successful sides in England at the time.
@zzzaaa0990 Haha in this game the win was more to do with David James when he really was shit! Ya must at least be missing the days when United were winning titles with Liverpool in the running...and I don't mean as outsiders for a Europa league spot. The refs must really HATE Liverpool eh, with the amount of time you'll take to win a league title again! Amen to that.
@SocFly84 Liverpool were never really in the running for the premiershit/p and have produced some very poor teams since they last won the league.97 they did put up a reasonable challenge but other than that man u/fa have to face really poor Liverpool sides and hence why they have won the league 12 times since Liverpool's last triumph, plus the huge favors the FA and referees have done for man u/fa.Can't wait for the CL to restart, some big names in there, while some won't be missed.Amen.
@zzzaaa0990 no but our kids will get some experience in the thursday cup.... how long is it again since the scouse have played in europe? u tried and failed last year to qualify for a competition that is now considered an embarrassment for united fans to be in
@Mrmojorisin3485 Your kids couldn't even beat Crystal Palace.Looking forward to see eihter Real win a record 10th European crown or Barca winning a 4th CL in the space of 6 years, man u/fa never did that, and never will either.Amen.Liverpool have been crap for years under daft managers,it's going to be some time before they will be a serious threat again.p.s Amen.
If Liverpool had won this game and drawn at Old Trafford they'd have won the league. Amazing to think they were that close with such a poor defense that let so many soft goals & dropped so many points all season. And Calamity James in goal in his "prime"...
@TKManUTD1989 So a centre back pairing of Pallister/Bruce would have turned Englands fortunes around?????? The teams problems lay elsewhere. They were excellent for Utd but there were always better options when it came to the national team.
@victorlosses A center back pairing that was the bedrock of United's fantastic run league and football during early to mid 90s was better than any pairing you could name, I'm not saying they should've dropped Adams because he was immense but apart who else performed better than Bruce/Pallister?
@SBOWsteffan they are reli fucking overrated, they actually piss me off so much cos pundits call them a top team yet they make such prats of themselves against shit teams like wimbledon and recently norwich. they are basically shit themselves, and dont desserve anything decent. average team
@colonelwhiskey Man Utd fan born and bred here. I just feel that by beating them most of the time in the 90s, we were paying them back for all those years in which we had to live in their shadow. Beating them really rubbed it in their faces didn't it?
@MrStrawhatlegend i guess i would agree there. but one thing i would point out, no matter how much silverware liverpool won even back in the days they were a force, they still lacked the magic united always had. The larger than life players, the coaches, the history, the stadium etc. the glamor they possessed started much earlier before the fergie era, it was just taken to another level since then. if you look back on history, for me man utd was always a more a significant dynasty.
@MrStrawhatlegend What did u bribe god to be born in MANCHESTER (i mean the RED side) dude !!!! Wishing to visit OLD TRAFFORD and shout my "buttocks" out GLORY GLORY MAN UNITED from the STREET FORD END some time in THIS lifetime of mine..... :P :P............anywayswish we kick them RED-n-BLUE tomorrow and on the 23rd(CITY, boy are they making some noise since tht 1-0 fluke at WEMBLY) ........... but tomorrow will be tough at tht wretched stadium of theirs..........AN(us)FIELD
Lifelong United supporter here, and Andy Cole was such an over-hyped buy. He never ever ever played well in any massive games through the years. 1995 cup final. 1995 league, least day. 1996 cup final. 1999 fa cup final and champs league final. His goalscoring record is.....ok i suppose. But not really. 98/99 was ok,but Yorke completely outshone him. Cantona hated having to play off him to from 95-97. It showed how poor he was when you see his international record for England. Was never a fan.

@elmacca David James dear oh deary me it performances like this that gave him the nickname Dracula by non Liverpool fans I bet Andy Cole and Gary Pallister were laughing their heads off on the coach back to Old Trafford after this one. It was James' cock ups that he blamed on playing too much Playstation or N64 the consoles of that time that cost Liverpool this game and ultimately the title
ALL goals were made by headers.....now thats shity goalkeeping!! frm D james!!!
