@michael13111983 micheal, I know this answer is two years old, but I think the answer is that every generation of young people (the target audience by music companies) are told what to like. usually the music industry builds up a music movement and then tears it down to create a new one, all in a desperate attempt to hold onto that very narrow demographic.
