  • Dios es grandioso la cerveza es buena y la gente es loca

  • Btw I saw him live at the Kenny Chesney summer tour and he was amazing

  • Love this song... Just everything from Billy's voice to the lyrics... Awesome

  • Great tune! Beer IS good!

  • Actually he was flat a majority of the song. Could've been a bad monitor mix or he isn't good live. Nothing to be excited over. IMO :)

  • Never heard a choir say beer is good....

  • The music video looks just like my dead grandpa sooooooooooo. Sad the old man 

  • reminds me of my boyfriend and I the first night I ever heard this song at some hole in the wall bar... very romantic one of th ebest nights with him ;)

  • so so true.

  • country music lovers come check out walsh2188 for some good country music.young kid on the come up. come by his cl and show some love....thank you

god is great and beer is good PEOPLE ARE CRAaAaAZY

  • Lol

  • @rcraig37854 That isn't Billy's fault. And I think it might be in the out going mix from the video. Youtube-compression is known for destroying sound.

  • This. Song. Will. Change. Your. Life

  • There is always some douche bag (rcraig37854) that thinks he can do better.

  • i love this song!! and Billy too <3

  • My senior quote :D

  • My fav song. Sounds as good as the music video. -3 u Billy!!!

  • This guy rocks at singing country music.

  • Muy buena la cancion

  • Excellent

  • Haha Letterman was impressed. That's an accomplishment

    Great song

  • Es un angel.I love you Billy

  • Es un angel.I love you Billy

  • Wow.

You know a band is tight when they can perform so well live that it sounds studio. Many blessings on Billy Currington, he is talent incarnate. Such a wonderful, simple beautiful song!

And believe me, if you have never had the opportunity to talk with an old timer at a bar til closing, you have to do it.

    May change your life...

Philosophically speaking, not by being in his will...lol.

  • the old man actually died the other day :(

  • A little off cue there huh Billy ...

  • It`s such a good song: So simple but so great .

The choir ? - A little more pathetic -but this song don`t need it.

  • Cute song,I like it !

  • Theres something special about a gospel choir singing about beer. Its just so beautiful. Brings a tear to my eye.

  • i went to the states for the summer in 2009 and this song was always playing :)

great song! .. great memories! :))

  • He's an example of an actual singer. So many people today (swift) alter their voices in their music videos and then stink it up in performances, but billy isn't one of them. His voice sounded the exact same as in the music video!

  • am i the only one who thinks the choir ruined the song? other than that, fantastic!

  • @RosserppO so do I . I made that comment . I had too many negitive votes so I removed my comment

  • better than the studio version

  • Due date.....wahooooo

  • Lov this song

  • Don't think about the message so much and just try to enjoy. thanks.

  • the thing that I get the most out of this song is that family or people who think they know you are not always the ones who know you the best or see everything the clearest, but a people with character and honesty who take you for who you are might give you the most respect when respect and honesty are given back!

  • Awesome jam

  • i love coming back and hearing this tune once in awhile.

and that choir really knocks me out.

  • i lived in clyo ga and i am in n.c. now back home in asheville i love you billy ....you really gave me strength thank you

  • Love this song

  • I've watched this video many times, I have it looping while I'm "working"..lol..A simple song filled with simple truths, sounds like a night any guy could have..(I like blond & redhead chicks too..;)

Billy is a great singer and entertainer, love his stuff...

  • hey papasito me encantas!!!!1 guapo

  • no u can't have emo lookin kids playing country it ain't right.

  • @pie5243pie Let me tell you what ain't right: Hank ain't a member of the Oprey, Jennings and Haggard were rejected, and the face of your country music is a modern day Porter Wagner minus the sequence sparkel suit. Looks and respect from the establishment is worse than "emo". Look 'for you speak.

  • I love this song and him...seems to me pie5243pie your alittle jealous of skinny guys. Does'nt matter what the people look like, its the way they sound and sing!!!!

  • i like this song and this band but if country music is turning into dudes in skinny jeans scarfs red ties and hair slicked over one eye then country is doomed

  • gotta admit.... a choir singing "beer is good" is just a tad weird......

  • @enoche1974 lol :)

  • Great Voice!! Effortless and smoothe singing. Love the choir. Anyone know who they are and where they are from? Thx

  • When's he in the UK?

  • I agree, the choir was a classy touch. Good song, thanks for the post.

  • i love the country GOSPEL PART ,thanks

  • Very good! great !

  • Great Song !

  • I like the chorus effect!

  • i luv how billy sings this, its like him talkin bout an experience he had... awesome song

  • I remain in awe of this incredibly clever & catchy country song-an instant classic! My favorite song of all time!! God is great, beer is good, & people are crazy..says a lot, don't you think?

  • i love this song plus the singer lol..

  • David Letterman, along with any other talk show host, has very little to do with who gets booked on their shows. They have people on their staff to do that job. Letterman might want someone specific on his show from time to time, but the people who are popular at the time are the ones who get booked. Letterman probably cares very little about what musical acts are on his show. If they'll bring him ratings, and he'll get to continue sitting in that chair every night, then he couldn't care less.

  • Billy can really sing and this song rocks, brings tears to your eyes.

  • This song get's better every time I hear it! And it is true. God is great, Beer is good, and People are crazy.!!

  • i never liked country but i love this song

good to see people still sporting 80's hairstyles in the choir

  • Billy's home page has a seven minute long video of Dave talking about the song and the performance. It's the best version to watch.

  • Dave was being sincere about this song. I've watched him since the beginning (his morning show) and know he's a fan of the old time country honky tonk type music and this song is that type song. You can find a lot of truth in the lyrics of this song if you listen closely.

  • CBS has finally posted the August 18 Letterman show. Be sure to watch the beginning when Dave praises this song.

  • Great job Billy and band! Loved it! I can't believe ya'll are arguing about if DL is being sarcastic or not. Who cares. He always sounds sarcastic. He wouldn't have had him on the show if he did'nt like the song! I thought the choir was cool!

  • Dave gets this song! I've done stand-up on the show before. Bravo Dave! Chris Fonseca

  • Great song, and no David wasn't being sarcastic. The way he kept commenting, and I heard they had to edit some of the stuff out as David kept commenting how much he adored the song. Sarcastic? I think not. Great song, great story - Go Billy!

  • Dave's sincere - joking and over the top, but sincere. Dave's an Indiana guy who likes NASCAR. Not some NYC phony. When he raves on a song, he means it. They wouldn't have invited the guy otherwise - they rarely do country.

  • Billy is great, songwriters are good and some people are crazy

  • Hey, those are Nowland Guitars. My Bro-in-Law, Joel Nowland, makes them by hand. They are the best! So beautiful.

  • Trust me, Letterman was being sarcastic. Notice how the crowd laughs as he's making fun of the lyrics at the end. It's because they all knew he was being sarcastic. Plus, I truly doubt that Letterman considers Billy Currington of all people to be his hero, as he says. That's grade A sarcasm. I've watched Letterman since the 80's as well, and believe me, he is NOT being serious.

  • I don't think Letterman is being sarcastic he's just going along with the craziness of the song - an old man's lived a whole life and he sums it up with God is Great, Beer is Good and People are Crazy and that's about it, it is a song to laugh at and with and that's how Billy sings it

  • was letterman being sarcastic ???

  • >was letterman being sarcastic ???

I've seen about 5,000 hours of Letterman, spanning 27 years, and he has never been more sincere than he was with his compliments for Billy.

  • I love this song!!! Great job Billy :D

  • Nice job! It was probably not Billy's idea to have a gospel choir sing about beer, though. That kinda freaked me out at the end.

  • Sissy, I'm sorry you can't pick up on sarcasm. And 22honeybear, Braddock is also the same guy who wrote "I Lobster, but Never Flounder" & "You Can't Have Your Kate & Edith, Too". He writes good stuff, but he writes crap as well. And this falls into the crap box. But you're right, he IS laughing all the way to the bank. It's just sad there are people out there that pay to listen to stuff like this. And is "millionaire he" really any better than "millionairey"? Either way it's a horrible rhyme.

  • This song was written by Bobby Braddock, who wrote George Jones' "He Stopped Loving Her Today" (considered one of country music's best songs of all time), Tracy Lawrence's "Time Marches On" and many more. Currington does an amazing job with this song and it looks like it might get the CMA's Song of the Year award. Btw, The lyrics are, "He was a millionare he/left his fortune to/some guy he barely knew" not "millionarey". Currington and Braddock are the ones laughing - all the way to the bank.

  • you obviously didn't watch Letterman in the beginning or watch enough to know he meant what he said about the song.

check the lyrics: Then one sunny day

I saw the old mans face

    Front page Obituary

    He was a millionaire he

    He left his fortune to

    Some guy he barely knew

  • Great Job Billy!!!!! Love it!!!!!!!!!
