I would argue that the so-called short man syndrome is a direct response to big asshole syndrome. No one my height has ever tried to push me around; it's always the 6'+ guys who seem to feel a need to lord it over others.
I can totally relate to this. I am 5'6, and if I become angry, it's because someone is acting very rudely towards me. It's not really a complex when you're constantly the butt of all the jokes, and always the one who is being targeted for harassment (through no provocation on your part). That's called getting angry from constant prejudice. I wish this damn stereotype would die already.
Very true, I'm 5 feet 1.5 inches, and quite happy, known to be very strong all my life, I remember in middle school I was highly respected, ranked as one of the Alpha males, even in high school I was percieved as strong so ya, these stereotypes really come down to when people looked at kids, kids are weaker, slower, dumber, not sexually desirable (unless ur a pedophile, lol) Also kids are more emotional, short tempered, but the biggest thing that people seem to forget, we are not children.
@DarkashesX ok look heightism is a real problem but short people dont have to say things like a 5'0 man is going to be faster than a 6'0 man when they have the same muscle. Usain bolt is tall a slim. sorry and i know im going to get hated on but i think it needs to be said.
The 5'0 guy would appear bigger, not be stronger. A 5'0 guy will not run as fast as a taller guy because of his shorter legs and stride. Short people are actually more prone to heart disease than taller people because disturbances in blood flow. Shorter people cannot jump taller than tall people. Where the hell is your logic? Also, no study supports that short people live longer. I'm a bit under average (5'9), but I dont find anything you said true.
The 5'0 guy would be stronger as he would have more compact muscle and a shorter distance (shorter arms) to release power through, thus giving him a stronger punch/lift/whatever than the 6ft guy. How many tall bodybuilders/powerlifters do you know that are sucessful? I cannot comment on the running but as running is endurance/power based, height should make no real difference. As for jumping, with a lower centre of gravity the jump would be higher. And yes, there are studies.
@matthewcampisi There's nothing good about short stature. Get real. It's a handicap. NOSSA should either support research to help short people increase their height along with their self-esteem or iniciate research to help short people grow.
Again there are very very few advantages to being short however there are many many advantages of being tall. Therefore tall is better than short.

@brainyscienceguy Took the words out of my mouth.
The Napoleon Complex seems to be mentioned by taller folk who use it as a tool to make shorter folk feel bad about themselves.
How many times have I heard this term being thrown around by short people?
Not many.

Here are some interesting facts about being short:
If a 5'0 guy and a 6'0 guy had the same amount of muscle the 5'0 guy would be much stronger.
A 5'0 guy can move much quicker than a 6'0 guy, this includes running.
Shorter people tend to live longer and have more energy.
Shorter people tend to be healthier is alot of ways because blood can circulate through the body faster. Which also improves physical performance.
Shorter people can jump much higher, just look at the 5'3 nba player.

I hope those facts are true

@rodman332 It is true. Go google it.
Shorter stature usually means longevity.
Answer this question.
How many 6+ foot people have you seen that are pushing 100 years?
Honestly, tell me. Cause I don't see many.

I don't really think there is a serious correlation between disease and height.
