They're not saying, "Jump for us, we want a good show," but instead, "Jump for us, for our salvation!" That's what I got from "erlose mich."

In this song, The man truly just wanted to see the view, to see the beautiful sky, and all of the people nearby are so eager to see a death, that they instantly crowd around and tell him to jump. This, in my opinion, could happen in any large, industrialized nation, be it Germany, America, Russia, China, Japan, Great Britain, etc... How people are ALWAYS interested in the sad, horrible stories on the news. Most of us all say "how horrible", or "so sad", but inside we love to see those stories.
