  • i like your background how did you get it?

  • This command sets the currently selected screen saver as the desktop background. Use command + c or . to stop while in Terminal. Alternatively you can use wallsaver.

    /System/Library/Frameworks/ScreenSaver.framework/Resources/ScreenSaverEngine.app/Contents/MacOS/ScreenSaverEngine -background

  • because steve jobs is cool, unlike bill gates.

  • why do macs have such random things like tetris and pong hidden somewhere in the system :P

  • you can do the star wars thing in windows too

  • Recent Apps: defaults write com.apple.dock persistent-others -array-add '{ "tile-data" = { "list-type" = 1; }; "tile-type" = "recents-tile"; }'

    killall Dock

how do you turn it off?

  • on pong the ball went through the wall and made a hole in the wall, and looped going in one wall and coming out the other, deleting the wall and paddles as it passed through them :/

  • Stack Highlighter: defaults write com.apple.dock mouse-over-hilte-stack -boolean YES

    killall Dock

  • @metroidslifesucks why do u want them to be on the right? Even though u would be used to use a pc it shouldn't be that hard to press vindow buttons that are on the left lol.

  • Sweet. Learned a lot. Maybe you know this already... type "top"and press return/enter to view all running processes on your make. To kill an application type "kill -9" followed by a space and the PID number shown in TOP of the application you want to kill/crash and press return/enter.

  • does quitting finder harm ur mac?

  • this is wicked:)

what is the code to make your mac talk to you?:)

  • Does this work on Mac OS X 10.411 Tiger?

  • woohoo i got a highscore! wait that wasn't on my mac...

  • I would not say these are terminal tricks. You are just editing a plist file with terminal. You can do the sam thing with Finder and PlistEdit (part of the DevTools).

  • THUMBS UP FOR IF YOU TOUCH YOURSELF YOU WILL BE BROUGHT TO THE HIGHSCORE SCREEN! - 0:37

  • why would you ever want to quit finder? what use would it have?

  • Where did u get the wallpaper?

  • paste what?!

  • You sound more like AppleGirl1000 than AppleGuy1000. Nice video though.

  • I changed my dock to the 2d dock but now when I copy and paste the command to get the 3d dock back, it doesnt work. What should I do?

  • Instead of downloading Quicksilver to force quit Finder. Just type this into terminal.

    killall Finder

  • Instead of downloading Quicksilver to force quit Finder. Just type in the terminal, "killall Finder"

  • Snake is on every nokia mobile phone

  • pon was on atria (i suck at spelling)

  • New on Mac. First terminal vid I watched. Love it.

  • Do Snake and Pong work on Tiger? (10.4.11)

  • You seem very knowledgeable or at least inquisitive to look things up yourself. glad to see such a young person pursuing. You should learn a bit more bash to help you so that you can write some of the stuff yourself. Keep posted to my youtube channel I will be release a bash tutorial soon.

  • @chrizsnipedu That's not all the commands. There are Unix commands. If anything, those are Java and other X11 commands, not purely Terminal.

"try to make your snake bigger without touching yourself."

  • lol, well played sir, well played

  • @Boydbme I know i touch myself all the time and i dont get a highscore screen

  • @Boydbme I would thumbs up that... but it has 69 now and I don't want to ruin it.

  • COOL! I use this application called verbalize for my computer to talk, I didn't know that terminal can speak!

  • "if you do touch yourself like that"

    <-- LMFAO

apart from (well including) that, great video.

  • @Nas939 lol

  • The stack highlighter doesnt work on snow leopard...

  • Yeah, I have noticed that. However if you hold and click on the app in a stack, it will work.

  • same with me. i upgraded from tiger to snow leopard and the highlighter that i want badly does not work

  • @JackoSantos

it works for only stuff that has a "..." in the middle. And it only puts the graphite on the title

  • @JackoSantos I did this twice in snow leopard, and it worked. defaults write com.apple.dock mouse-over-hilite-stack -boolean yes

  • @JackoSantos yes it does. use this code defaults write com.apple.dock mouse-over-hilte-stack -boolean YES

    killall Dock

  • @JackoSantos use this codes.

defaults write com.apple.dock mouse-over-hilite-stack -boolean YES; killall Dock

defaults write com.apple.dock mouse-over-hilite-stack -boolean NO; killall Dock

  • Comment removed

  • @JackoSantos ....I JUST BOUGHT A MAC LAST WEEK OPENED IT IT HAS OSX AND I DID GET THE JOB DONE THAT THIS KID IS TALKING ABOUT SO I DONT KNOW WHY YOU SAY IT DOESNT WORK....THERE ARE SO MANY YOUTUBE VIDZ OUT THERE THAT TELL YOU HOW TO DO IT THE SAME WAY ON THE SAME MAC OSX......CHECK AGAIN AND DO IT RIGHT BRO

  • you can do the talking one just by downloading verbalize

  • speak louder but great video kid

  • how can i reset the highlight thing ?

  • The code is in the description.

  • @AppleGuy1000 IT doesnt work to do that :'(

  • @TheJazzMan13 any time you have a code with YES or TRUE...just put NO or FALSE to reverse it...its vice versa for the code....

  • @TheJazzMan13 if you have snow leopard use this:

defaults write com.apple.dock mouse-over-hilite-stack -boolean NO; killall Dock

if you have leopard use this:

defaults write com.apple.dock mouse-over-hilte-stack -boolean NO; killall Dock

  • Very nice. I love Terminal. :P

  • Thanks, me too! Check out the next video that is almost done processing for anther cool trick in Terminal!

    Gagan

  • which one is the next video?

    I love Terminal too! :-)

  • Why were you whispering? =S

  • I wasn't, my sister was in the other room and I don't like making videos with my family around. :)

  • I press escape and nothing happens. grr

  • Very nice vid but my question is that are those games gems actually hidden in side leopard itself?

Second its Mac OS TEN not "X". To prove my point just have leopard speak "Mac OS X" and you'll see.

  • Thank you. They are kinda of hidden within Leopard, the games are using a GNU shell command which is a type of Linux script and so in a way the codes are.

Yes, I am aware it is Mac OS 10 not "X". I am just as annoyed as you when people say "X", I usually never do! But I guess I did in this video and description!

    Thanks for your feedback.

    Gagan

  • Aw, I don't like terminal videos.

  • It is all good! This was my last one! :D

  • Ok, lol. You have nice videos, I'm just saying I don't like terminal videos.
