@bladecatcherX99 really depends on the style of the band you're in. But he's using more toms than most drummers use and he's admitted in interviews that he hasn't moved to a bigger drumset because he's too lazy to work with all the parts.

@tolisdrums....Maybe it's because some studios have the option of using a house kit.  One that is already tuned and has optimal heads/wood/sound for whatever room the artist is recording in. I have a doublebass pdp x7...If a studio offered to let me play on their Pearl Masters kit...the answer would be "yes please thanks."

@tolisdrums - I agree with zeesupahgerman, it also may have had something to do with the producer/engineer. Alot of times the producer/engineer has a favorite drum company or drum head company that they are comfortable working with, and strongly encourage the drummer to use it. For example, on Whitechapel's new record the drummer had just gotten new Evans heads and the producer made him replace his whole kit with Remos because he prefered them.

Nice shirt. Brann is a fantastic drummer, I've seen him live, singing and playing drums and it was fantastic. I've always liked his single-foot technique, I've never been a fan of double kick pedals myself.

He uses a double bass peddle, but sparingly. Like on Iron Tusk you can hear him cruise with it for a bit. But i love how he never over uses it. He finds more creative ways to fill the gaps of a song then using straight double bass blasting.

yea i just watched a drum off vid with him and the drummer from lamb of god and shadows fall and i gotta say i laughed when i saw all of these double base kits with 12-15 cymbals and how complex they were and when he cam up with 2 crashes a ride a hi- hat a 7 piece single base setup and and in my opinion was one of the best. between him and jason bittner they took the show in the video in my opinion
