very cool - if you can reach it try playing Db with your thumb and Eb with your pinky instead of a Eb octave

This is great. Blues licks like this help me learn so much- please post more of these little licks. The more I learn, I can try to string them all together and make up my first C piano blues solo! Thanks for all of your help!
