  • Thanks for the help !!!

  • @MrRon1507 np, thanks for watching.

  • we just dump the coffee in the press..no science there. =) i like it stronger..mmmm i like the wetting the plunger first method.

  • you could have shown how to press it thats what I clicked on for, anything you showed the camera was redundant ...just a bunch of talking

  • @whiterabbitjohn I am sorry you didn't not find it helpful. :-(

  • @coffeeCupNews a french press in britain (and possibly other countries) is called a "caffetiere".

you're probably not interested, but i thought i'd tell you anyway. i think the different names we have for stuff is mint.

and i swear by these, i can't be bothered with a coffee machine, and freeze dried is shite.

french press is the way forward ;o)

  • i started out using a coarse/recommended grind but found i get much better results grinding to somewhere around drip...the filter easily does the job and the result in taste is much better IMO...since my beans are very fresh (within a couple days of roasting) i get a lot of bloom...so i fill about halfway, stir quickly then fill the remainder....another quick stir and let brew for 4 mins....to me the best i make at this point...hope anyone reading this gets the same results...cheers

  • One more thing. Not that I don't have enough French presses around but this one you have looks so cool even more cool even more than my mother's Bodum Columbia one. What brand and model is this one ?

  • @klarinetta that one is from Starbucks and it is a discontinued model. Bodum has a great stainless steal one as well.

  • @CoffeeCupNews Yeah the presso and arabica ones from Bodum looks great but not as great as this one. The only problem with Bodum is that the style comes at a price. They are the most expensive french presses I've seen on the market.

  • A steal press that keeps your coffee warm is good for keeping it hot for 10-15 minutes after you plunge the press down but not for much longer because it will keep steaping a bit so it will become bitter.

  • @klarinetta great points. I love how much knowledge and passion you have around coffee!

  • @CoffeeCupNews Well it comes at a price. I just can't go to visit people and get poor coffee or badly brewed one. I admit that I'm addicted coffee snob :)

  • I use about 2 tablespoons of coffee for every 5oz of water or 24g of coffee in a 12oz press and I let it steap for about 4-5 minutes and I have had very few people complain about it was splitting hairs. Anything less than 2 tablespoons per 6oz of water I find piss.

  • How hot should the water be? I have been told boiling is too hot and will make bitter.

  • @yourlifeworks it should be between 195 - 205 degrees or just off of a boil, not boiling.

  • Very cool. I was just thinking of asking you about this, but now you answered.

    Thanks.

  • omg this video is so cool
