  • i miss this place man...i love beijing i love wu dao kou!!

  • yep, it's right down the street at the intersection chengfu lu and xueyuan lu.

  • isnt it somewhere nearby BLCU? ive lived there for a short monment

  • Stupid! this is not the time of cuture revolution.. so that green means GO!

  • AND I THOUGHT MEXICO HAD IMPATIENT DRIVERS

  • Haha that's hilarious (the video, not the other comments).

When I had arrived in Beijing for the very first time, I had experienced their traffic firsthand without prior knowledge. As soon as I left the airport, a guy in a BMW or some luxury car almost hit me. This was in front of the airport where cars did loading. I love Beijing! Hope your experience there was as fun as mines.

  • I didn't see any cultural bias in it, besides has anyone ever been to Miami? The traffics the same way down here!

  • The above comment was replying to the thread killsoccupant is apart of-I thought he was the last replier not you. To reply to your latest comment, I thank you 4 being mature&understanding how as an 'outsider' I DID view the video. I now see you&your friends are culturally understanding& aren't those typical Western tourist who go to document China&other Eastern countries in a neg.light-there's a couple on this site actually. So sorry4 automatically grouping your friends in this category:S

  • Hey, no worries. I understand where you were coming from. I get upset, too, when I feel like people are willfully misunderstanding other cultures. It drives me crazy. So, no problem. :)

  • Your reply astounded me, & your last part won me over.U see, both sides were fighting for the same thing (beauty in cultural diff).I was calling you guys the insensitive jerks & u were calling ME that.Explanation:I'm1/2 asian & proud,so my immediate reaction from the vid was'what a bunch of unapologetic racist jerks!' thus my 'angry' comment. But now I see you guys weren't been Western snobs AT ALL.So, yes, I'm sorry& admit defeat.

  • nah, i think i no her ... just dun expect to see her face in youtube.

  • vone is a moron. people like them need to do us all a favor and shoot themselves.

  • nice video....preps? uhh all right buddy.

  • I have no respect for you stupid ass preps.

  • Wait up, is the gal name is Hillary?

  • yeah, why?

  • oh please. the accent you're talking about is that person's actual accent. (nice job i.d.ing the accent, by the way. a puerto rican accent and chinese accent sound so alike.) save the lecture on cultural tolerance for someone who actually needs it. we've all been here before, and we all live here. that comment wasn't mocking anyone's way of life; it was mocking traffic. seriously. lighten up. travel a little more, and maybe you'll realize that you don't need to be so uptight about it.

  • I think the rest of us (regardless if u 'care' or not) WILL view it as an insensitive vid.Even if u're 'mocking the traffic' is that still NOT the ppl's way of lifestyle there? The vid clearly showed the cultural shock u all experienced (westerners). As ur other video of the hospital.Even if it was a P.R. accent,it wasn't authentic-based on the immediate laughs that followed.

  • you're an outsider to this situation, which no one can fault you for. you don't have an understanding of the context. however, the group of people featured in this video live in beijing, have absorbed a great deal of culture, and have a fairly good, and ever-growing, understanding of our surroundings. the more true understanding you have, the less important it is to walk on eggshells. my chinese friends know i respect them and where they grew up, so something like this isn't a problem.

  • you are a bloody retard... making such a fuss from some stupid ass comment... lighten up like they told you. and stfu. stop paying attention to stupid little things like that.

  • I'm going to reply to you in a new thread, or my reply will get cut off.

  • I honestly don't undestand why that comment was uttered (the chinese/ green & red) esp. in a "chinese accent". It's so disrespectful when foreigners visit a particular country & tries to mock these ppl's WAY OF LIFE. When I went to Spain, I made sure to read up on traffic signals & other cultral traits, so no shock arriving.Next time research before visiting & have some respect while YOU'RE the foreigner-geez.

  • You idiot. Aside from misidentifying the accent, you clearly don't know a damn thing about Beijing. Traffic signals are more like suggestions than signals to be obeyed. Locals know this. Nobody drives in lanes. Cars are seen running red lights and driving in the wrong lane into oncoming traffic. Plenty of laws, no enforcement. It’s a systemic problem involving everything from traffic laws to women's rights. Do your OWN research and stop preaching about things you don't understand.

  • Yes, &you knew all the laws b4 actually arriving, right?.OK, fine, well to a Westerner viewer (us), even if it wasn’t your friend’s intentional, this vid proved “the absurdity of the Chinese & their incapability to drive”.You guys were clearly flabbergasted by the traffic, which = culture shock from us. Which can discourage ppl from wanting to visit a crazy ass city like that.

  • if something like a traffic video can dissuade you from visiting beijing because you're afraid of the "culture shock," then you probably shouldn't come. if you're not excited and/or interested by what you see, then you're not ready yet. expecting to not have at least a little culture shock in a place so different from western cities as beijing is unrealistic. culture shock isn't a bad thing; it just can be overwhelming. difference is exciting, though.
