Anyways, I know this is a computer game, but in real life during the cold war we technologically surpassed the Soviets, building better military weapons, so if the game reflected that the soviet strategy would just consist of sheer numbers. The reason this happened is because the businesses that built our weapons competed eachother, creating more a drive to make something better.
Red Alert 2 isn't really based on real history. Its more inspired by the campy, paranoid science fiction of the cold war era, when Americans were afraid of the Russians using mind control and silly things like that.

Yeah, I saw that in the rest of the cutscenes that the game is really supposed to be silly.
