I don't want anyone to misunderstand me. I believe that we should be compassionate. The life of an immigrant is usually a very challenging one. They aren't numbers. They are people. But a controlled system, which is very questionable right now, MUST be brought into effect. Immigration, its causes and consequences is a major topic many people are concerned about. Knowing the right answer is hard.
RIP to the victims of the many migrant tragedies in recent years.

cont... holding centres are worse than prisons. Its in everyones interest to improve the conditions drastically. Immigrants should not be mislead about what to expect in their host country; laws, culture etc. Providing this information as early as possible is crucial.
3)Criteria for entry should be much more stringent. Only those who absolutely need help should get it. They should be treated humanely and if necessary given medical attention, but need to know what is expected in return.

I hate the leftists who make it sound as if it's Europe's responsibility to ensure that illegal immigrants have a safe voyage. That's bullshit. The migrants know what they're doing is illegal and risky, so therefore they are completely and solely responsible for what happens to them.

dkrustyklown- im no lefty or bleeding heart. I believe in controlled immigration. But have some compassion. Yes, what they are doing is illegal and they probably do know the risks involved, but doesn't that show the lengths they are prepared to go to for a better life? Of course there are dangerous people among them but don't tar them all with the same brush. These people go through hell. Here are some approaches;
