@kanfil54 the other thing you should think about, what about all the other european countries ranked well above australia that didn't make it to the world cup? According to your arguements australia sholdn't be able to go either. But the reason they are going is what makes the WORLD cup so great.  Not all the best teams of the world make it there according to ranking, but are there for their geographical position in the world making it a true WORLD cup.

@kanfil54 Probably not, but i would prefer to play in the asia qualifiers which would improve our quality of football out of sight, in between world cups we are lucky to play 2or 3 games a year, at least being part of asia there is better quality opposition and will increase the interest in the sport.In saying that we can only qualify how fifa wants oceania to qualify and that is exactly what we did. The serbia game? they had a full strength team and rioting fans,bit more on it than a friendly!
