So, I'll let you figure out why I posted this the way I did. And by the way, I happen to be a white military veteran so I guess you can't use the racism card in my case, huh?
I don't think the white or should I say, non-black soldiers, sailors, or airmen had to deal with that while fighting for their country. They had to fight to get the respect that "some" not all finally gave them. Also, let me show you some facts in the next post. Not enough room in this post.
You ask about the white pilots during WWII. Good questions. I highly respect all of our veterans as I am one myself and know some of the sacrifice that our military men and women make to serve our country. I highlighted the Tuskegee Airmen in particular because they had to endure racism in the military that they served in from their fellow white soldiers and leaders in particular. Tough way to support your country, huh?
All I can can is thank you Tuskegee Airman and apologize for what you had to endure. I hope to meet one of you (if not more of you) someday before I die. I would be honored.
@pwestjr what about the non black pilots/airman who died for the freedom you enjoy today? why is it a black thing when a black ww2 pilot dies? more non blacks died during ww2 than blacks. forget racism.... these men died for you and they werent even black. but you dont care about that huh? it doesnt matter because they werent black. i look at these guys as heroes even though they are black, they all are.
14 years after the Little Big Horn, the 7th Cavalry was entrapped in a box canyon, and if it wasn't for the 9th Cavalry, there would have been a second massacre of the 7th Cav.
The Buffalo Soldiers, 9th Cavalry was rewarded with Presidential Parade Escort and Guard Duties for accomplishments, furthermore; the 9th Cav. received as many citations as most of the white cavs.
Read the epic novel, "Rescue at Pine Ridge", 5 stars Amazon, and Barnes & Noble.
@TheMRJabyouintheFace what about the non black pilots who risked their lives or died for the freedom you enjoy today? there were alot more that died than the Tuskegee Airman you know? since most of them were not black....you dont care....blacks dont care. talk about racists!
@RangRing68 I respect all men who died for there country in the world wars. But these men were denied the fact to fight for there country becuase they were considered incapable (too dumb) to fly war planes. I respect all American soldiers regardless of race, and most people do
@TheMRJabyouintheFace i know the history and dont need to be reminded. the government knew blacks arent dumb its just that these guys didnt do any more heroic feats during ww2 than my grandad (who is native indian) did but because they were black, its like WOW!! i disagree and believe the Tuskegee Airmen are overrated. its been 7 decades already, we know blacks arent dumb. too much celebration here.
Good or bad, this history belongs to all American. Haters go home!

Always have admired those old men. They went out and got the job done instead of bellyaching like so many do today.
