- $4mill price tag

- Failure of back propping beneath the 200mm thick concrete deck

- Crane support outrigger punches through slab causing crane to lose balance and collapse across the site and onto adjoining property

- Crane balanced in the air for approx 1 hour before entire rig & boom collapse completely across site and rigs falls through to the basement level.

Amazing that no-one was seriously injured or killed.

@realjoefriday winch brake failed. but there is no such thing as a double jib crane. that is a lampson transit lift crane on the right in straight boom configuration. the other boom you see is the back mast. the white boom they are lifting is drag line not a crane. from what i understand 5 people were killed in this accident

Winch brake broke loose, happens on some smaller systems but as closely monitored as these heavy cranes are AFA repairs go this is a 1 in a million shot here.
