I find it a bit strange that Shawn's AA qualifying score was the same as her AA final score and Nastia's AA qualifying score was exactly 1.0 lower than Nastia's AA final score (she had a fall on bars). Then again falls were .8 before.

@FlicTuckFull Yeah. Replace the Johnson 1/2 with a full twisting switch split on floor. Double spin with leg at horizontal on floor. Switch ring leap on beam. Yang Bo on beam before the pike jump and back tuck (that would be sick).
I mean, had she really worked flexibility and getting her hips square then maybe. But with her leaping form from 2008 I'm happy she never went for anything else. She truly has bad basics as far as any leaps or jumps go. I can understand her body style not leading well to amazing leaps, but you can tell she didn't put in too much effort in them which is a shame.

Liukin had leg separation on her release move on UB,she also cowboy her double front dimount,the judges never took the deduction that should be taken.Liukin also has little power and height on her vault.On beam,she connects skills with snail-speed to get less deduction.On 2007 worlds beam final, I'm very sure that she had a MAJOR wable and still won.On floor,Liukin always crosses her leg to make them look like scizzor,each one should take 0.3 deduction,but didn't at all
@Planetimage2 Yes, she had the same difficulty with Yang Yilin, and worse quality of movements. But she was scored much higher than Yang Yilin and even surpasses Shawn. But I think Shawn's Amanar can be taken as an 720, but it is hard to tell. Both Yang and Shawn win the gold will be reasonable. Nastia Liukin is overscored in every item except vault in this game

Great job AshleyakaFlipper. Sad video. But the whole book on Shawn Johnson's elite career has not been written. I think she will get roudy as hell on some gymnastics apparatus in London come summer 2012. At least that is what I hope.
shawn is a fantastic gymnast, and she did what she could that night to try and win. but it just didn't happen for her. she was so overscored in the US and i think it gave everybody false hope. she had had done the same quality gymnastics at the olympics, and it was amazing gymnastics. but i think people need to realized that nastia was just better that day, and she won. no matter how much you analyze it, the outcome will not chance.
Oh poor girl, the judges really seemed to grill her way to harshly, so hope she makes the 2012 because she is the most inspirational gymnast I have EVER seen and heard of! xx

i never knew about the bad judging for shawn she did make some mistakes but they shouldnt have judged her so low. nastia is my favourite but in this case i really do feel sorry for shawn now. thats the problem with gymnastics is not like running where you can see the defiant winner it depends on what the judges like on the day and its not the best way like in this inciddent and others :/

I can't wait to see if she makes her way back to nationals and worlds next year and then the olympics in 2012.
