Awsome plane...was my second plane, after flying a Champ for a few weeks. It's a pussycat to fly, very smooth, and pretty cale performance. The eliptical (scale) wing is very forgiving to beginners. Plane is a bit fragile.
To those having issues with the throttle being sketchy...check the throttle slider on the transmitter. My PZ P-51's TX throttle slider came loose, and eventually broke. It was the cause of all the crasy, inconsistent throttle issues.
another reason its not brushless is because parkzone designed it to fly like more a scale warbird then a sport plane. Warbirds are not capable of aggressive vertical climbs like a jet.
@AnglOsAxOn2 visit aero-models-electric,as for the planes i mentioned they are perfect for park flyer's and they have many more park flyer's aswell so just take a look at there website and see what you think.
@AnglOsAxOn2 With parkzone planes you can fly them at a park. i would join the AMA. the plane is easy to fly. but since its a hand launch and a belly lander you have to be really good at landings. i would NOT recomend this plane for a first plane. get a super cub or Alpha 40 or a nexstar.
Mine crashed (it lost signal for some reason, I think the reciever overheated) directly into the ground, needless to say, it lost the entire nose section forward of the cockpit, which I have replaced with a balsa square-ish nose. It's now been renamed the squarefire, and is still to be tested.
i currently own an aerobird 3 which im reasonably proficient at flying aerobatically and i was thinking of buying a new plane to hone my skills a little more. does anyone have an recommendations? i would really like a spitfire but im not sure how easy it is to fly....it looks pretty fast compared to what im used to. aulthough i did get into a high speed dive in my aerobird whilst trying to loop i folded the wings lol
i have this plane and for some reason whenever i want to fly it, i need to cycle the nickel batteries. (Charge, drain, repeat several times) it gets annoying. Any help? nice plane to fly when the batteries are ready though :)
@MrRockoutLoud How long between flying are we talking here? If it's more than a few of days, then yes, nimh batteries require topping off. Lipos are much less susceptible to this because they have much lower self discharge.
@JaleelJohanson62 it all depends on the wind in my area. usually a few days, i might try to find other batteries for this plane so i can fly it without cycling first.
i think so tom, First plane i had was a PZ mustang, and i was a complete novice. Do Plenty of practice on a simulator and you should do fine. Also be very careful when launching this or any other RC plane which has no landing gear. The hand launch is where 95% of crashes happen. Trust me there is no need to chuck it like a javelin, nice gentle but firm and 'Straight' throw in to the wind works every time.
@tomtom4867 Hey Tom, I had the same problem too landing my SuperCub. I got floats to fly off the water, and they actually work better than the wheels!! Especially on thicker grass!
Hi forces077. I am new to this hobby, but I remember the manual saying to have the throttle all the way off before turning everything on. Hope this helps.
please can i have some advise, my motor doesnt seem to work properly when i push the throttle forwards, i know that it is not the remote itself as the elevator and ailerons work correctly - i think its the connection between reciever and motor, can anyone suggest wat i should do? thx
Love it! It flys great! Still like the mustang and focke-190!...hard to pick one, guess I'll have to get all 3! Thanks for the flight and commentary on the model.

I saw a similer -if not same thing- in a model shop the other day, complete set ready to go.
1: How much
2: How easy is it to fly
3: Could I go to a local park to fly it, or do I have to go some where purely for model flying
Thanks

@AnglOsAxOn2
I wouldnt say that this a fist time model if you are wanting to get into the hobby then my addvise would be an lp super cub or the st cessna 182

@matthew11243 Thanks, those two models you mentioned, where would be the best place to purchase them, UK, can you fly them any where?

after a super cub lp do you think that this would be a flyable plane for a bit of a beginner?

i hand launch my cub all the time. the grass is too thick for any runwau takeoffs. Would i definatly need a simulator and are they cheep?
tomtom4867 2 years ago
There are free simulators tom.
FMS simulator is the most popular. Its basic but it works pretty good helped me for sure

The only thing I can suggest is to either return to the place you bought it or Horizonhobby UK
HorizonHobbyGB 2 years ago
@HorizonHobbyGB If you still have it, just check all of the links and wires between the motor and the rest of the esc. They sometimes come unplugged.
TheRedDal3k 6 months ago
@forces077 make sure when you bound it that the throttle was all the way down
