I think that's because there's a bit more industry here and the coastal cities have diluted culture because there are so many different cultures living in them.

I was in beautiful Vava'u 2 weeks ago, its where my Dad was born. I would definitely recommend it to any visitors to Tonga. Dont stay too long on the main island, Vava'u is the place to be.

45 mins by air from Tongatapu, crystal clear blue sea, white sandy beaches, sailing, fishing, snorkelling,swimming (with the whales) & friendly ppl await you! What are you waiting for?!

Lolo, I'm not from Vava'u, but some of my ancestors were from Feletoa. Still, I've gotta say that Vava'u has to be the most picturesque island in all of Tonga.I've spent some time in Leimatu'a and Pangaimotu. I miss it a lot.'Ofa atu.
