First saw Goodbye Mr Chips in 1970, countless times since then.

What a movie !!!!!

Music and lyrics - outstanding.

Script - outstanding.

Performances by Peter O'Toole and Petula Clark - simply superb,outstanding, brilliantly cast together, unforgettable.

Movie critics? Bunch of Morons to put it mildly, the movie was not good enough for them. After the garbage they wrote about the movie I stopped reading critics reviews.

C'mon MGM - bring it on the DVD already.

I watched the movie when I was 17. It is still one of my favorites. I still remember all of the songs.

I watched it recently, and it is really a good movie, funny in places and touching in others. Pete and Pet were well matched, the supposrt cast was first class, and the music was excellent.

This great musical got passed over when it came out in '69/'70...Midnight Cowboy, Catch 22, Bob & Ted & Carol & Alice, The Killing of Sister George...not exactly an audience seemingly screaming out for an old-fashioned musical, though it's grown in stature over the years. It's a very touching scene and thanks very much for posting it.
