Saludos!
Very nice indeeed! Congrats....I am a beginner and want to play salsa with my bongos, I have learned the martillo and want to go an step forward but don´t know what to do now.
I have been playing by ear some songs, it sounds good but I think that I need some guidance. For you how is the best way to learn:playing by ear or learning patterns? If so, what are the patterns a beginner like me should learn?
Thank you in advance for your help...please keep playing beautiful!
Five stars!! Very beautiful. I have to tell you that you are my big example on how to create a beautiful tone. On Youtube you are the best!!! Now I am just a beginner with 4 months of playing, without lessons and with a little handicap on the left hand but I don't give up. I like a different kind of music and I am from a different part of the world but my ears tell me one thing; you're great!!!!
Greetings from the Netherlands, Cobi (the bongo lady)
For a variety of reasons, very few bongoseros have the ability to play in the tradition of Papa Kila (who was Arsenio's bongosero).
Many will shout and scream that they can play Arsenio on the bongo, but the truth is the cannot. Arsenio is different.
You have an excellent feel for what Arsenio is all about. One of the key concepts that you have mastered is the importance of hembra double strokes in this genre for the bongo.
