I've heard this theory about words act as 7% but it still doesn't sound right. I can understand tone and body plays a big amount but not too that ratio.

Im studying NLP at the moment. Im currently reading a book on sports psychology and all the techniques are NLP, the author is a mental skills coach and even though its mostly aimed at sports, the author said u can use the same techniques for any aspect in ur life. Ive already noticed a great difference.

When you use it for commercial, job interview, etc. it is quite OK... But when you use bullshit (in a sense that it is acting, you are not showing your real face) like NLP in dating, then what relationships you can expect from such dating? I tell you what: Whole life of cheating each other and pretending. Fuck that sucks!

but i never use it on my girlfriend

and plus, she knows i study NLP thoroughly

I guess nothing harmful. Recently I watched documentary "The Corporation" (2007) and encountered one bitch, which creates ad campaigns for children, manipulating them. And guess what, she feels OK with it. How people can be so dumb when they asume that manipulating others for profit is OK? WTF is wrong with people?!

NLP should only be used in therapy and by people like Derren Brown for enterteinment, when people are not fooled, but manipulated to show how our minds works. Using this in buisiness is outrageous.

That was my attitude in high school when I saw people dropping out. Less competition for high paying jobs.

However, if the general population does not enjoy learning... Well, that's not good for my economy.

Very interesting. But are we teaching people to be authentic in commenication through these techniques? In social situations, a fake can easily come off as insincere or worse manipulative. No one likes that. Sales and public speaking are different contexts perhaps more appropriate to these techniques. (also politics!)

In sales and politics these techniques are used. Being aware of them can make you less likely to be manipulated, to be manipulative only depends on the persons intention.

I use these techniques in education and with clients my intention is purely focused on their benefit.

It is important to point out that the figures of 55%, 38% and 7% are of what the unconscious mind understands and Ive not come across any research that suggests Europeans are different from that. I would be very interested in learning more; could you direct me to some studies or reports on that? Or even your personal experience?

Hi tzapinaru21, thank you for your feed back; its interesting youd say that as in that particular video I also demonstrated Anchoring. Anchoring is predominantly based on the work of Ivan Pavlov who, as you know, was born in Ryazan, Russia (not USA or an English countries) - although some people from the USA tend to site William Twitmire with the Stimulus Response

i think this procedure is working only in USA(english countries) because the europeans has an other way of thinking.if you will come and try to sell something to a romanian for example , i'm sure that it would be very dificult for you...just my opinion:)
